Time to spare so we take a circular walk to the town then down the hill to the beach to see if any windsurfers are out and about, then back to the railway station, then seeing the train arriving on this request stop station, we give a clear signal to the train driver and board the 1741 ATW service to Llandudno Junction that arrives there at 1831 on Tuesday evening.

A 2 minute walk to a bus stop also serving the station and we board the 22:00 Express Motors 1B bus service to Porthmadog (Station, NW Bound) arriving there at 22:27 Tuesday Evening

Indeed it is a settlement of historical importance. The local library contains a wealth of information about the local area, including explaining about the 'church in the sea', the old bridge and the Ancient Burial Chamber at Cable Bay

Our time here is limited though and so we head for the next bus. Boarding the 15:29 Padarn Coaches service 42 to Bangor, Bus Station, [Stand C, Garth Road] arriving at 16:21 on Tuesday afternoon.

Annoying when you miss a page isn't it.

HOLD HOLD HOLD

Walking even a two minute period is not allowed.

Game moves

Walking

You may not walk between stations of the same mode although you may walk to a different bus stop at the same location for example by crossing the road in order to travel in a different direction. You may also walk when changing modes but only to a stop serving the same location.

This is an extract of the last updated rules on "Walking"

Does it not qualify under the changing transport modes information?

A difficult one - from memory the bus stop is on the main road just outside the station car park. It serves the station, but isn't named accordingly.

Yes, I'm sorry I'm not able to teleport from The station exit to the bus stop, but the posting also clearly states a two minute walk to a bus stop also serving the station from which we catch the next service.

The bus stop in question is at The Commercial not the station. If you want to travel by bus then you have to use a stop serving the station. To clarify, for this game a stop should not be considered as serving a location unless it is immediately outside the station (including the car park) or is marked as serving the location. We remain at Blaenau Ffestiniog at 2020 on Tuesday. Trainfan34 has priority to post the next move until 2348 after which time it becomes open floor.

The previous adjudication is now void as it was made in error due to not reading the timetable correctly. Trainfan's move and the subsequent post by dzug2 are therefore valid.

Fine, here it is, we then catch the 08:10 Express Coaches from Stop c in the station car park all 30 seconds to Blaenau Ffestiniog, Lord Street, High Street arriving there at 08:10 Wednesday Morning. This is the only legal move I can find.

Given that for the purposes of the game we are being forced into playing silly beggars, we cross the road to Lord Street Church Street and catch the 0828 Express Motors 1B service to Commercial Hotel, Commercial Square arriving 0830 Wednesday morning.

All set for a trip to Porthmadog - if we still want to of course

The bus stop in question is at The Commercial not the station
To be picky it isn't - it's stop A in Church Street, the second stop out from The Commercial. And Traveline Cymru says it's one minute walk from stop C in the station car park. Not that it makes any difference of course.

We continue an hour later on the next 1B to Minffordd Railway Station arriving at 1047 Wednesday morning

Didn't see #5361 until after posting this. I'm off probably until Saturday now. If it becomes my move at any point - open floor

We are under hold conditions, the timetable shows the service in question as leaving the Commercial at 2200 with the next stop listed as Llan Ffestiniog, Peniel, Blaenau Road at 2208. If it is indeed the case that the bus does stop here then as this bus stop is immediately outside the station car park it would make Trainfan's previous move valid. The rail station sign is even immediately opposite of the bus stop. HOLDING for clarificaiton.

The list all stops option on the Traveline Cymru site shows about a dozen stops between the Commercial and Llan Ffestiniog

I didn't notice the option to select all stops and for some reason thought the bus in question headed in a different direction, I should have more closely checked the map. This makes Trainfan's move valid, sorry for the confusion.

We can now resume from the last valid post which leaves us at Shrewsbury at 1126 on Wednesday.

Thanks for this resolution - I do realise some moves can be difficult to adjudicate. I can go to bed happy now and leave the next move to someone else

This would appear to be the post that Zoe has made reference to as the one to base the next posting on......

Heading northwards, we next board the 1159 ATW service to Wilmslow that arrives there at 1248 on Wednesday afternoon.

I too wish that that particular facility was more universally shown on the other Traveline website information details.

I usually use the All Stops facility...having been caught out too many times. That said it does show some stops that require a walk. e.g. Arriving at Bangor Railway station some bus services show you arriving at Deiniol Road and it's then a 1 minute walk to the station, but the stop is listed as serving the railway station.

Anyway onwards and upwards. We venture towards Merseyside by joining the 13:57 LM service to Runcorn arriving 14:21 on Wednesday afternoon.
