Not wishing to travel on any unfathomable Welsh buses, we continue on the 0913 ATW service to Crewe, arriving at 1103 SUNDAY morning, surely

We note with some regret that it is too late in the day for a ride on either of the heritage lines so we return on the 1800 ATW departure and travel to Dovey Junction, arriving 1942 Sunday evening

A typical commuter-belt part of north-west England
This late time on Sunday evening at Dovey Junction railway station is not exactly to be on the transport hub of the west coast of Wales, either by bus, train, packhorse, etc, so we resign ourselves to a short onwards journey by rail and we next board the 1954 ATW service to Caersws that arrives at 2033 on Sunday evening.

HOLD

There's several opportunities for onward travel by train - as far as Birmingham in one direction, Aberystwyth in another

And best ask now - we treating Monday as a bank holiday or a normal day?

My posting has now been amended accordingly.....I am not having a very good 24 hours, am I...

--- old post above --- --- new post below ---

And best ask now - we treating Monday as a bank holiday or a normal day?

As the coming Monday is not a Bank Holiday (it was the Monday already gone), this will not affect matters, as we do not revert to retrospective dates on this quiz, but on the days forward of the "quiz day".

I feel an "unfathomable Welsh bus " beckoning!

From outside the station, we board the 1029 Arriva Cymru service X5 to Abergwyngregyn, where we arrive at the Lloch. just off the A55 at 1059, Monday morning.

An opportunity to visit Ynys Mon is now presented to us from this location, so we board the 1615 Arriva Cymru service 62 to Cemaes Bay (High Street Post Office) that arrives there at 1711 on Monday afternoon.

Sorry - I think that should be Amlwch Co-Op at 1711! [According to the Ynys Mon Council website, the 62 does not extend to Cemaes Bay]

Not at that time of day, but we can continue to Cemaes Bay at 1841 on the 62, arriving at 1853 Monday evening

I dunno - you go away for a day and look where it lands you up - in that blasted isle you were trying to get away from

As we can't get straight back on to the bus from which we've alighted, there's nothing to do but wait for it to return from Bangor, and surprise the driver as we then reboard the Arriva Cymru 62 at 2353 from Moelfre. Not wishing to go back again to Amlwch, we alight at Penysarn at 0003 Tuesday morning.

Time to traverse another area of Ynys Mon as we board the 1151 Arriva Cymru service X4 to Rhostrehwfa (Gorwel Deg) that arrives there at 1228 on Tuesday afternoon.
