At Sheffield we are told we have to board the 03:25 FTPE service. We fall asleep and wake up in Huddersfield of all places, and then wake again to find we have landed up at Manchester Airport at 05.12 on Tuesday morning

We now decide to make a voyage northwards and board the 0545 First TPE service to Edinburgh that arrives there at 0922 on Tuesday morning.

We then board the 10:00 East Coast service to Newark North Gate arriving there at 13:17 Tuesday Afternoon

On the way to Edinburgh however we realise that it has been a while since we were in the south west... so we board the 10.10 XC Voyager (4 car probably!) to Penzance, arriving at 20.52 on Tuesday evening

We then board the 10:00 East Coast service to Newark North Gate arriving there at 13:17 Tuesday Afternoon

Northwards again, as we board the 1343 EC service to Newcastle that arrives there at 1542 on Tuesday afternoon.

As we just missed a Cross Country service we decide to wait an hour until the next service. This gives us some time to stretch our legs in Newcastle for a bit. After a walk around we board the 1641 Cross Country service all the way to Bristol Temple Meads arriving at 2144 on the Tuesday evening.

An evening run out to the coast, as we board the 2156 FGW service to Weston-super-Mare that arrives there at 2228 on Tuesday evening

We are fortunate to find a very early morning service is still available, so we next board the 0137 FGW service to Cardiff Central that arrives there at 0234 on Wednesday morning.

We have a little while to wait until our next departure at 01:37. This FGW service takes us under the River Severn and into Wales where we alight at Newport arriving at 02:17 on Wednesday morning

Think nothing of it Sir. I was busy adjusting earlier plans when we both struck.

As you got us to the principality we find the station a little inhospitable at this time of the morning. We have to wait a few hours before our next train. The 04:35 ATW service to Hereford arriving 05:46 Wednesday morning.

Time to seek and find an early morning cooked breakfast to sustain us before returning to the station to board the 0642 FGW service to Charlbury that arrives there at 0830 on Wednesday morning.

We are starting to get to the morning peak and we've heard there has been 3 cancelled trains resulting in platforms becoming busier! We decide to board the 0642 First Great Western service and travel as far as Reading, the wedge this train became at Oxford was unbearable! We arrive into Reading at 0914 Wednesday morning!

After a nice wander around the town of Charlbury to help avoid the morning peak into London we board the 0941 First Great Western service as far as Reading where we arrive at 1025 on the Wednesday morning.

Off now to the seaside, as we board the 1046 XC service to Bournemouth that arrives there at 1212 on Wednesday afternoon.

Wanting to see the remains of the street tramway we join the 12:24 SWT service to Weymouth arriving 13:13 on Wednesday

Onwards next by rail to a settlement with much history as we board the 1403 SWT service to Winchester that arrives there at 1547 on Wednesday afternoon.

We decide to head back to the coast to see some ships and so we board the 1618 to Portsmouth Harbour arriving at 1718 on Wednesday afternoon.

Now it is time to have a run along the coast as we board the 1729 Southern service to Aldrington that arrives there at 1844 on Wednesday evening.

We board the 19:06 Southern service along the coastway, but foresake the opportunity to travel into Portsmouth & Southsea LL by alighting at Barnham arriving at 19:47 on Wednesday evening.

We now take the short run up the branch line to its terminal station as we board the 1957 Southern service to Bognor Regis that arrives there at 2004 on Wednesday evening.

We decide to seek out some food, sadly no sign of the 'Bognor Buffet' so we have venture a bit further. However we make it back to the station in time to make the next branch train to Littlehampton, the 21:04 Southern service, arriving at 21:20 on Wednesday.

Time for a quick pint...the next few departures don't go anywhere of any relevance. We join the 23:05 Southern service to East Croydon arriving at 00:17 on Thursday morning
