A rail opportunity awaits to see a different coastline, so we enter the railway station and board the 1625 FGW service to Barnstaple that arrives there at 1807 on Thursday afternoon.

We make our way to the bus station, grabbing a snack en route, and catch Filers Travel's 310 bus at 1850 to Lynton Castle Hill, arriving at 1943 Thursday evening

We appear to have no option but to enjoy the scenic parts of this area and book in at a B & B for the night and setting off early back to Castle Hill, we board the 0650 Filers Travel service 310 to Martinhoe Cross, opposite Woody Bay bus station, that arrives there at 0702 on Friday morning.

We continue on the next 310 service at 0749, and arrive back at Barnstaple rail station (by request to the driver) at 0836 Friday morning

Time to change the mode of travel to rail , so we enter the railway station and board the 0843 FGW service to Crediton that arrives there at 0933 on Friday morning.

And back to buses again with Carmel Coaches weekly 677 service at 0955 to Exeter Bus station arriving at 1020 Friday morning.

Just time to check out our options for onward travel before we board the 1045 Stagecoach Devon service X38 to Buckfastleigh (Station Approach) that arrives there at 1135 on Friday morning.

Time for a steam train ride on the SDR - dep 1215 and travelling to Totnes Littlehempston, arriving at 1245 Friday lunchtime

This gives us time to explore the area at our leisure before returning for another ride on the heritage railway, so we board the 1500 South Devon Railway service to Buckfastleigh station that arrives there at 1530 on Friday afternoon.

We return on the next Stagecoach X38 bus at 1555 to Countess Wear, Southbrook Road, arriving at 1633 Friday afternoon

Not long to wait before we board the 1656 Stagecoach Devon service 57 to St Leonards (Heavitree Road) that arrives there at 1707 on Friday afternoon.

We continue at 1712 on Stagecoach service D, travelling to Pennsylvania North Park Road, arriving at 1739 on Friday afternoon.

Since this is the terminus, we decide to explore this area which sounds that, like California in Norfolk, to have connections to another continent, before returning nearly an hour later to the terminus, where we board the 1821 Stagecoach Devon service "D" to Exeter (Cheeke Street) that arrives at 1834 on Friday afternoon.

We cross the road into the bus station and catch the 1840 departure on Stagecoach service 1 and travel to Tiverton Bus station, arriving at 2001, Friday evening

Being Friday evening, we find a good restaurant open to serve us with a most enjoyable meal which we eat at our leisure, before returning to the bus station to board the 2200 Stagecoach Devon service 55A to Rewe (Shelter) that arrives there at 2233 on Friday evening.

We have rather a long wait - but at least not all night - for a Stagecoach 55 bus on to Exeter Bus Station. Departs at 0008 and arrives 0025 Friday night/Saturday morning.

Saturday morning at least sees us in a city bus station and we are pleased that we had that restaurant meal in Tiverton and we book our tickets onwards for a southern journey to Cornwall (again) and eventually we board the 0415 National Express coach 404 to St Austell that arrives there at 0710 on Saturday morning.

Tiredness is catching up with us so for a couple of hours Nap-Time we board the 07:48 FGW service from St Austell to Westbury (Wilts) arriving at 10:59 Saturday.

Excellent timing of arrival on that last journey enables us to board the 1110 FGW service to Cardiff Central that arrives there at 1243 on Saturday afternoon.

We catch the 1312 ATW service to Lydney, arriving at 1358 Saturday afternoon

Deciding that the attractions of omnibus travel will afford us better views of the local countryside, we leave the railway station and walk to the bus stop on The Orchards where we board the 1450 Stagecoach in Gloucester service 23 to Gloucester bus station that arrives there at 1540 on Saturday afternoon.

Just in time for Stagecoach's 71 departure at 1545 to Coombe Hill Swan arriving at 1603 Saturday afternoon.

A good time on a Saturday afternoon to arrive and we find somewhere to partake of rather nice locally-baked cakes with a refreshing pot of tea, then we still have time to stroll around the area to see the local sights and we are sad to realise that time is drawing on, so we return to the bus stop at the Swan hotel where we board the 1733 Stagecoach in Gloucester service 71 to Tewkesbury (outside the Boots shop) that arrives there at 1748 on Saturday afternoon.

We continue on Veolia's (Astons) 540 service at 1807 and travel to Evesham Bus Station arriving at 1902 on Saturday evening

Mindful that it is Saturday evening, careful consideration needs to be taken to ensure that we are not stranded in some small hamlet for the weekend that would be amazed to see buses running on a Sunday, so we carefully choose to board the 1945 Worcestershire Subsidised Service 551 to Worcester (St Nicholas Street) that arrives there at 2041 on Saturday evening.

We turn the corner into Foregate Street and take the short walk to the ststion for the 2111 FGW departure to Shipton, arriving at 2205 Saturday evening, being careful to travel in coach A or B so as to be on the platform on arrival

One thing we remember is that there are not many hours left on Saturday and Shipton has no rail services on Sunday, so we decide to await the service from London Paddington and board the 2314 FGW service to Pershore that arrives at 2352 on Saturday evening.

Pershore station is way out of town on an industrial estate in Pinvin, but we have all night to make our way into the centre for the first bus out in the morning - the Diamond 166 at 1007 to Bidford on Avon Memorial, arriving at 1040 Sunday morning

Time to look around the centre of the area before boarding the 1132 Johnsons Bus service 248 to Redditch bus station that arrives there at 1208 on Sunday afternoon.

Hello, this is my first post in this thread. All the time I have spent on RailUK and i've never looked at the quiz section!
This game is genius, I love it.

I have read through 50 of the so far 178 pages. So i'm not right upto date on everywhere that this epic tour has been.

So enough gassing lets get on with next journey for our roving mad machine...

We would love to stay and admire Redditch but our last train ride was yesterday. So a stroll across the road to Redditch railway station allows us to board the 1227 London Midland service to Lichfield Trent Valley arriving there at 1303 on Sunday afternoon
