Looks like the only option here (other than heading back towards Colne) is to wait for the next 215 Pennine Motor Services bus at 1950 to Skipton bus station arriving at 2005 on Thursday.

We decide we will take an early night break in travelling and book into a small hostelry where we book an overnight stay with a full English breakfast. The following morning sees us totally refreshed in body and mind and we make our way back to Market Place, where we board the 0916 Little Red Bus service 10 to Cow Ark (the stop by the telephone kiosk at the road junction) which arrives there at 1016 on Friday morning.

We have an hour and a half to wait and take in the rural atmosphere before catching the return 10 bus in the direction of Settle at 1147. Purely on the basis of the name we bail out at Tosside Dog and Partridge at 1225, Friday lunch time

Do you have a feeling that I have travelled in reality by bus in this area ?

We spend over an hour in the environs before boarding the 1353 Little Red Bus service 10 to Clitheroe Interchange that arrives there at 1447 on Friday afternoon.

Will we visit "The Apricot Meringue" for afternoon tea and home-made cake if there is time?

There really is nothing more to interest us in further travel today, so we book in at a small hotel for the night and awake ready to see what Saturday has to offer and after the customary full breakfast to sustain us, we return to The Square and board the 0904 Stagecoach Cumbria service 555 to Keswick bus station that arrives there at 1112 on Saturday morning.

An excellent time to arrive at the station and we walk through to the cathedral which has had had its surrounding area completely re-landscaped over the last two years and we see the Mappa Mundi in its exhibition there. We call in at the small refrectory for tea and cake then walk to the bus station, where we are in time to board the 1140 Stagecoach Wye and Dean service 32 to Gloucester bus station which arrives there at 1314 on Sunday afternoon.

We cross the road to the rail station and catch the FGW 1337 departure to Ashchurch for Tewkesbury, arriving at 1357, Sunday afternoon

BTW that ATW bus arrived at the rail station, not the bus, being a rail replacement service. Academic as there is still plenty of time for the next move

We spend nearly an hour examining what Woodmancote has to offer on a Sunday afternoon. before deciding that Sunday with the time passing by needs a larger settlement for onward journey planning and we return to the Post Office to board the 1810 Stagecoach in Cheltenham service D to Cheltenham (High Street) that arrives there at 1842 on Sunday evening.

Half an hour would have been more than enough, Paul

Anyway, we walk through the churchyard dodging the drunks to Royal Well Bus Station for the National Express route 444 departure at 1900 to London (Earl’s Court), West Cromwell Rd, Stop D, near Tesco, arriving at 2200 Sunday evening

After a thirteen-hour coach journey, all we want is to find the nearest restaurant to have a long leisurely meal which greatly refreshes us then we retrace our steps to Coinagehall Street (to the Blue Anchor bus stop) where we board the 0000 First in Cornwall service 2 to Penzance bus station that arrives there at 0045 on Tuesday morning.
