We have plenty of time to wait before boarding the 16:50 Transdev Burnely & Pendle 'MainLine' route 28 which takes us through to Burnley bus station, arriving at 18:22 on Friday afternoon.

We catch First's 592 service at 1850 and travel to Halifax Bus station, arriving at 2013, Friday evening

Time to see the main area, but not to go as far as the Piece Hall, before returning to the bus station to board the 2045 First Calderdale and Huddersfield service 503 to Ainley Top (Huddersfield Road) that arrives there at 2105 on Friday evening.

We have half an hour to wait before continuing on the same operator's 501 to Huddersfield BS arriving at 2155 Friday evening

We've now been to Alifax and Uddersfield. Ull or Ell next? The Lord deliver us from long leggity beasties and things that go aaaaarrrrrggghhh in the night

Heading off to "Nora Batty Land" next, as we board the 2230 First Calderdale and Huddersfield service 313 to Holmfirth bus station that arrives there at 2254 on Friday evening.

Time for a B&B and a leisurely start next morning on Tate's 25 service at 0854, travelling to Penistone Market Place arriving at 0932, Saturday morning

Not too long to wait at Market Place before we board the 1006 Stagecoach Yorkshire service 21 to Barnsley Interchange that arrives at 1047 on Saturday morning.

We have time to explore the undoubted delights of Barnsley before catching the Stagecoach 219 departure at 1125 which takes the scenic route to Doncaster Interchange, arriving at 1248, Saturday lunchtime

After partaking of a mid-day meal, it is back to the interchange where we then board the 1345 Arriva Yorkshire service 405 to Selby (Audus Street) that arrives at 1459 on Saturday afternoon.

To complete the Beggars' Lament, we make our way to the station for the 1558 TPE departure to (H)ull, arriving at 1635 Saturday afternoon

After much thought, we decide to stay with rail for our next onward journey and board the 1738 Northern service to Filey that arrives at 1851 on Saturday evening.

Not a lot happens in Filey on a Saturday evening (or any other come to that) - least of all bus transport

So we have an evening meal and not wanting to return the way we came catch the next - and last - northbound train (Northern) at 2042 and travel to Scarborough, arriving at 2104, Saturday evening

We are stuck sitting around Scarborough Station for the 22:04 TransPennine Express service to York, arriving at 22:55 Staurday

During my absence you were discussing the Beggars' Litany - Hull, Hell and Halifax, etc.
I trust we're not going to Hell, but another word for "Hell" is "Sheol" which means a "pit".

Well, there used to be a pit at Micklefield, and we can catch the 2313 NR from York, arriving there at 2335, Saturday night.

Finding that we're stranded at Micklefield for the night, go for a extended search for somewhere nicer to sleep. We get back to the station for the 09:09 Northern service to Cross Gates, arriving at 09:21 Sunday

We then walk to the shopping centre and board the 1004 First Leeds service 40 to Stanks, Dr Langbar Gardens, arriving 1014 Sunday morning

Sunday morning is not the best time for bus connections, so we are fortunate not to wait too long for the 1058 First Leeds service 40 to Osmondthorpe (York Road) that arrives there at 1118 on Sunday morning.

If we are where I think we are we catch the 844 Yorkshire Coastliner at 1122 and travel to Tadcaster Bus station, arriving 1156 Sunday morning.

If that's not where we are I'm lost.

Now from Tadcaster Bus Station on the 843 Yorkshire Coastliner service at 1226 to Malton Bus Station. arriving at 1336 on Sunday.

We take the 14:14 TransPennine Express service to Birchwood, arriving at 16:25 Sunday

We realise the shopping complex is rapidly closing, it being a Sunday, so get the next train out - the TPE 1650 departure to Thornaby, arriving 1930 Sunday ebvening

We now change TOC and board the 2017 Northern service to Darlington that arrives at 2043 on Sunday evening.

We decide that hotels may be better in York and get on the 21:04 east coast service, Arrive at York at 21:31 Sunday evening.

Still time to make a journey to a major rail interchange, so we board the 2212 First TPE service to Manchester Piccadilly that arrives there at 2336 on Sunday evening.

We would like to see if we can breach airport security at Manchester airport and get on the 06:03 transpennie express. Arrive at 06:18 Monday Morning.

We spend some time trying to convince the jobsworth of a security officer that it's OK to go through with our rail ticket to Cleethorpes, but eventually give up before he has time to have us arrested and catch the 0655 TPE, arriving at our destination at 0955, Monday morning

Time for a stroll along the front, then to the shops, before returning to the station to avail ourselves of the services of a different TOC for a short journey and we board the 1055 Northern service to Grimsby Town that arrives there at 1103 on Monday morning.

We continue on the 1128 EMT departure to Collingham, arriving at 1239, Monday lunchtime

Time to change the mode of travel, so we walk to Thornton Road where we partake of a light meal then to the bus stop on that same road where we board the 1333 Travel Wright service 67 to Newark (North Gate) that arrives there at 1350 on Monday afternoon.

We then walk to Newark Bus Station for the 1420 Stagecoach East Midlands Service 28 to Southwell, where we alight outside the Minster at 1445, Monday afternoon.
