It is time for the compass to point south, so we make our way to the bus station to board the 1055 Stagecoach Bluebird service 10 to Westburn (Foresterhill Road) that arrives there at 1430 on Friday afternoon.

Leaving the Highlands appeals to us, so we take the 10:45 ScotRail service to Edinburgh Haymarket, arriving at 14:13 on Friday

We realise we have alighted prematurely so wait at that stop for just 2 minutes and then carry on on the Stagecoach Bluebird service 59 to Aberdeen Guild Street, arriving at 1450 Wednesday afternoon.

A very short wait before we board the 1510 Stagecoach Bluebird service X7 to Inverbervie (King Street) that arrives at 1604 on Wednesday afternoon.

We spend an hour exploring the town and then continue on the next X7 at 1704 to Montrose, High Street, arriving at 1736, Wednesday afternoon

Time for a snack before boarding the 1812 Wishart service 30 to Brechin (Clerk Street) that arrives at 1832 on Wednesday afternoon.

We make our way to Southesk Street for the Stagecoach 21 departure at 1910 to Forfar East High Street, arriving at 1935, Wednesday evening

Time for a meal break before returning back to East High Street to board the 2025 Stagecoach Strathtay service 20 to Dundee bus station that arrives there at 2056 on Wednesday evening.

We wait around Dundee for a while before joining the 23:06 ScotRail Sleeper service to Crewe, arriving at 05:38 on Thursday

Out of the railway station to the bus stop where we board the 0604 Arriva North West service 38 to Eaton (School Lane) that arrives there at 0643 on Thursday morning.

We decide that Eaton in the early morning isn't much of a place to be, so we take the 7:29 Arriva North West route 38 to Congleton Bus Station, arriving 07:35 Thursday

Time to have a quick snack and a hot drink before boarding the 0830 D & G service 42 to Holmes Chapel (London Road) that arrives there at 0850 on Thursday morning.

We continue on the next 42 bus an hour later and travel to Crewe rail station, arriving at 1100 Thursday morning

We hunt down somewhere to have a late breakfast in Crewe, then join the 11:34 Northern service to Gatley, arriving at 12:23 on Thursday

After a short wait we get on 12:27 Northern service to Manchester airport. Arrive at 12:38 Thursday Afternoon.

We make a very short connection onto the 12:41 Stagecoach Manchester route 105 to Broadoak Road/Kenninghall Road arriving 13:00 Thursday

It is quite a good idea to name the AREA, as well as the roads, that any journey ends at, in order to give the next competitor a chance to make a following posting.

By the distance travelled on that last journey, we find that it is in Benchill where we are now, so having asked a local resident for other bus routes in the area nearby, we are pointed to the other end of Kenninghall Road, where we board the 1305 Stagecoach Manchester service 11 to Cheadle (White Hart) that arrives there at 1315 on Thursday afternoon.

We walk over to the Post Office to take the 13:30 Stagecoach Manchester route 310 to Adswood Shops, arrivin 13:42 Thursday

Crossing over to the other side of the road, it is not too long before we board the 1357 Stagecoach Manchester service 313 to Cheadle Hulme (Grove Lane turning circle) that is just outside the playing grounds of Manchester RUFC at 1413 on Thursday afternoon.

We take the 14:30 Stagecoach Manchester route 378 to Stockport Bus Station, arriving at 14:55 Thursday

Just a short time to wait until we board the 1505 High Peak service 199 to Buxton (Market Place) that arrives there at 1618 on Thursday afternoon.

We admire the Georgian (??Regency) architecture for a while, and then leave on TM Travel's 66 bus at 1730 and travel to Calver Sough , arriving at 1816 on Thursday evening

Time to stroll around to pass away the time until it is time to board the 1902 TM Travel serice 214 to Matlock (Bakewell Road) that arrives there at 1927 on Thursday evening.

We quickly transfer to the station to catch the 1936 East Midlands service to Nottingham, arriving at 2053, Thursday evening

Time to source a quick snack and a hot drink, before we board the 2143 EMT service to Leeds that arrives at 2341 on Thursday night.

We decide to call it a day, continuing next morning at the unspeakable hour of 0602 on the Northern service to Ilkley, arriving at 0629 on Friday morning.

As it's a lovely fresh Yorkshire morning, we decide to have a bracing walk along the moor which shares this town's name, but on realising we have left our headgear at home, we return to the town for breakfast.
We then make our way back to the station, but not for a train - rather Pride of the Dale's service 74 at 0935 to Appletreewick [remembering to ask the driver for "Aptrick" so as not to show our ignorance], where we arrive at 1007 on the Friday morning.

This gives us two hours time for sightseeing before returning to board the 1207 Pride of the Dales service 74 to Grassington Square that arrives at 1224 on Friday afternoon.

We continue deeper into the Dales on another Pride service, this time the 72R, which leaves at 1232 and arrives at Buckden at 1301 on Friday afternoon

Buckden has a choice of establishments to visit for a meal, but we decide to spend our two-hour stay in exploring the area of the village and its surroundings, before returning to the bus terminal stop to board the 1510 Pride of the Dales service 72 to its other terminus at Skipton bus station that arrives there at 1625 on Friday afternoon.
