Time is getting on, so we walk to the railway station with time to spare and board the 1729 SWT service to Winchester that arrives at 1847 on Thursday evening.

We have enjoyed our trip around the South West but its time to move on. We catch the 19.31 Cross Country service from Winchester to Manchester Piccadilly arriving at 23.37, Thursday and enjoy the 'comfort' of a Voyager

We walk up the platform to the overbridge and go to platform 13 where the train from Blackpool is due and we board the 2355 First TPE to Heald Green that arrives there at 0016 on Friday morning.

We get some directions from a native and walk the 24mins to Woodhouse Park, Ruddpark Road/Simonsway and catch the Stagecoach Manchester 43 at 01.14 arriving at Manchester City Centre, Portland Street/Dickinson St at 01.48, Friday

The night passes quickly and we catch the TPE at 0437 from Piccadilly and get off at Malton at 0704, Friday morning

We then cross over the road to the Bus Station and catch the 07.15 Yorkshire Coastliner 843 from stand 1 alighting at Staxton, Hare & Hounds at 07.43, Friday

Time for a cooked Yorkshire breakfasr before we board the 0905 Scarborough and District Motor Services 118 service to Hunmanby (Horseshoe Inn) that arrives there at 0917 on Friday morning.

We have time to look around the area, before returning back to the bus stop to board the 1119 Yorkshire Coastliner service 845 to Bridlington bus station that arrives at 1153 on Friday morning.

We have a leisurely lunch and at 1405 catch the 130 East Yorkshire bus to Hornsea, arriving at the EYMS depot at 1505

Not too long to wait at the stop until we board the 1525 East Yorkshire M S service 246 to Beverley bus station that arrives there at 1610 on Friday afternoon

After stuffing our faces at Jumbo's Chinese Buffet we then jump on the Yorkshire Coastliner 843, leaving York Railway Station stop C at 19.06 which we take to Scagglethorpe, turn arriving at 20.06, Friday

Scagglethorpe is not exactly what you would term a transport metropolis, so we wait until it is time to board the 2051 Yorkshire Coastliner service 843 to Crossgates (Burtondale Road) that arrives there at 2120 on Friday evening.

Realising the Crossgates we have arrived at is not the one near Leeds therefore not the one we are familiar with we then get directions from a local to Seamer Station and catch the 22.28 Transpennine Express service to Malton arriving there at 22.26, Friday

We take the short walk to the small bus station and wait for the 2250 Yorkshire Coastliner service 843 to York (The Stonebow) that arrives there at 2323 on Friday night.

we then make our way to York, Clifford Street Stop C, Clifford Street and catch the 23.59 First West & North Yorkshire number 4 to Heslington Hall, (opp.), University Road, Heslington arriving at 00.07, Saturday

This leaves us with no option but to wait at the bus stop until the next First York number 4 service at 0625, arriving at York station at 0642 on Saturday.

We've got legs - it's only a couple of miles and I'm sure the steunce do it all the time.

We have time to look at the ruins of Pickering Castle before going to the booking office at the North York Moors Railway and we note that the Saturday timetable is in our favour, so we board the 1100 NYM Railway service to Grosmont that arrives at 1205 on Saturday afternoon.

Walking from a train station to an ajacent bus stop or station is fine, there are usually bus stops quite near to the station. This was not the case above though.
