Did you appreciate my recommendation for the North Euston Hotel at Fleetwood.....:D

...................................................................................

.

Yep - though my aborted trip to Lytham was prompted by having had relatives there in the past where I could have stayed

I'm bowing out now until tomorrow. We could be anywhere by then:D

We then make our way to the Bus Station at Manchester Airport and catch the Trent Buses number 199 at 12.45 to Stockport Bus Station arriving at 13.05, Saturday

Off to Debenham's store in Mersey Square to their restaurant for a Saturday mid-day meal before returning to the bus station to take advantage of one of the longest standard bus services in this area and we board the 1342 Trent Barton (soon to be High Peak) TRANSPEAK service to Nottingham Broadmarsh bus station that arrives there (via Buxton, Bakewell, Matlock and Derby) at 1655 on Saturday afternoon.

We head for the pub in the High Street and sit there morosely drinking until we get thrown out, but manage to catch the last FCC train to Cambridge at 0015, arriving at 0030 Sunday morning

Even more morose having been overtaken

Not too long to wait for the 14.15 East Coast service which will get us to Alnmouth at 17.08 on Sunday giving us plenty of time to sample the new 1st class offer (please be advised Alnmouth station is not in Alnmouth. You will need to specify 'Alnmouth railway station' to get bus times if you so wish)

Is that the 518? sounds like it! (no need to ask directions I know where the stop is lol)

after a pint in The Percy Arms we then catch the Arriva 308 service leaving at 20.04 and alight at the Billy Mill/Coast Road (Billy Mill Roundabout) stop at 20.27 on Sunday and visit My Shanghai Buffet for a well earned face stuffing session and maybe a beer or two, and maybe pop to my Mums house to grab a brew if we have time!

Great! I've managed to get 'home' teritory here! :)

It's probably quicker to walk, but we are intrigued by the name New York a short distance off. And in any case we've overeaten. So we catch another Arriva 308 bus at 2158, arriving New York Billy Mill Lane at 2201, Sunday evening
