We decide to have an early night for a change and next morning catch the 0715 National Express coach to London, getting off at Finchley Road at 1640 on Sunday afternon.

We move from the tube station to the main railway station and note that this has very many platforms, so we spend some time watching the various trains come and go, before boarding the 1825 London Overground service to Queens Park (London) that terminates there at 1900 on Sunday evening.

We have a bus ride right across London on the 36, departing QP at 1911 and arriving at New Cross Gate bus garage at 2020, Sunday evening

We talk to one of the drivers at the bus depot to see what the options are for a long bus journey at that time on Sunday evening and we are grateful to him for his advice and he walks the very short distance with us to stand M on New Cross Road, which indeed has a board which includes our next journey, so shortly, we board the 2155 National Express Shuttle 022 to Margate railway station that arrives there at 2310 on Sunday night

After a night in Margate, we join the commuters on the 0730 SE service to Rochester, arriving 0831 on Monday morning.

We meet with a couple of FCC rail staff who are heading for the city centre and we walk with them to the railway staion and board the 1947 FCC service to London St. Pancras International that arrives there at 2027 on Monday evening.

We are fortunate to find, at such a very late hour, an onward connection with only a matter of a few minutes to wait, so we board the 2327 Northern service to Doncaster that arrives at 0007 in the very early hours of Tuesday morning.

Fortunately the Premier Inn just the other side of the parish church still has rooms, so after a good night's sleep we return to the Interchange for the 0820 Arriva Yorkshire Service 496 to Wakefield Bus Station, arriving 0950, Tuesday morning.

After having some breakfast and a hot drink we then board the 1100 Arriva Yorkshire route 110 to Leeds (City Bus Station), arriving there at 1131 on Tuesday morning.

We stay in the Bus Station for the 1145 Transdev in Harrogate Service 36 to Ripon, arriving 1317 Tuesday afternoon.

We decide to have a scenic and cultural diversion and get the 139 Dalesbus at 1330 the long way round to Fountains Abbey Visitors Centre, arriving at 1440, Tuesday afternoon. and there use our bus ticket for half price admission.
