Time for an overnight break. Taking advantage of a new service that was only introduced back in June, we take the eight minute/0.4 mile walk to the Burstead Close stop and board the 0548 Brighton & Hove service 20 to Queens Park (Stonehurst Court), arriving there at 0613 on Monday.

Sadly we are just out of reach by 0.1 of a mile from Preston Park for the 270-273 range of services, so instead we take the ten minute/0.4 mile walk to Lewes Road bus garage and board the 0718 Compass Travel Citybuzz service 37 to Meadowview (Turning Circle), arriving there at 0723 on Monday.

Presuming from the timings that we are at the Rock Gardens bus stop we go round the corner to the New Steine bus stop on the A259 for the 08.08 Brighton & Hove service 12 alighting at Eastbourne Railway Station at 09.26 on Monday.

Mindful there is a 10 minute minimum connection time applying at this station, we just have time to board thr 1028 Southern service to Chichester that arrives there at 1125 on Monday.

I do find it very peculiar that at a fairly compact station such as Brighton the minimum connection time is ten minutes, when there are far bigger stations such as London Bridge, Manchester Piccadilly and Leeds with the same connection time. Furthermore, Stratford, which is a huge station with multi-modal transport links, is only seven minutes!
