We exit the station and take the six minute walk to Frascati Way, where we board the 0740 Thames Valley Buses service 704 to Heathrow Terminal 5, arriving there at 0903 on Monday.

We next take the 10.05 National Express service 202 to Pontcanna, Sophia Gardens arriving at 14.05 on Monday.

We take the four minute walk to the Talbot Street stop and board the 1410 Cardiff Bus service 63 to Pentyrch (War Memorial), arriving there at 1454 on Monday.

We pay our respects to those who gave their lives in the 1914-1918 Great War at the four-metre tall light-grey granite war memorial obelisk and spend some time talking to relatives of the fallen who were there and then board the 1603 Cardiff Bus service 63 to its terminal point at Pentyrch (the bus stop before Penffordd on Lon-y-Fro) that arrives there at 1605 on Monday

We next take the 16.20 Cardiff Bus service 136 alighting at Maindy, Cathays High School at 16.51 on Monday.

We cross over to the Parkfield Place stop and board the 1703 Cardiff Bus service 21 to Rhiwbina (Heol Lewis), arriving there at 1722 on Monday.

We take the ten minute (0.5 mile) walk to the Johnston Road bus stop for the 17.43 Stagecoach South Wales service 86X to Caerphilly Interchange arriving at 18.01 on Monday.

We next board the 1824 Stagecoach South Wales service 51 to Bargoed (Hanbury Square) that arrives there at 1859 on Monday.

We take the nine minute/0.4 mile walk to the railway station and board the 1911 Transport for Wales service 2Y82 to Barry Island, arriving there at 2031 on Monday.

We decide to return back to the Welsh hinterland by rail and as we are at the terminus, we can use the same train to board at 2035 to Rhymney that arrives there at 2220 on Monday.

Sadly that's left us snookered for the night, so we return sheepishly in the morning for the 0555 Transport for Wales service 2Y08 to Lisvane & Thornhill, arriving there at 0642 on Tuesday.
