After taking advantage of the overnight travel relaxation rule, we next board the 0549 Northern Trains service to Haltwhistle that arrives there at 0642 on Tuesday.
Little choice at this time of day but to stay with the trains. We therefore take the 07.03 Northern service 2A02 to Morpeth arriving at 08.33 on Tuesday.
Glad to finally be off the Tyne Valley Line, we next take the three minute walk to Mafeking Roundabout and board the 0935 Arriva North East service 777 to Kingston Park (Bruton Lane/Kingston Park Shops), arriving there at 1016 on Tuesday.
Entering the metrostation we depart on the Tyne & Wear Metro green line at 1021, from which we alight at Sunderland (Stadium of Light) at 1104 on Tuesday.
Time for some lunch then from the nearby Hawthorn Cottage bus stop we take the 13.42 Peter Hogg of Jedburgh service X74 to Jedburgh Bus Station arriving at 15.02 on Tuesday.
