No, the 78 operates from Great Eccleston to St Annes via Wesham, Kirkham, Freckleton and Lytham.

The 18, in the direction from the Mereside, operates along Highfield Road, then turns left into St Annes Road, crossing it at the junction with Squires Gate Lane, then continues along Amy Johnson Lane into the Hey Houses estate.

Thanks for that. I can understand now the confusion with Squires Gate being the area name and Hey Houses being the estate name. As I said, Hey Houses is an area that I know little about, but I was sure that as an area name, it was an area that was served by the 78 service.

It appears that there is only one way out of this estate, and that is over half a mile away, so we have only the aforementioned Blackpool Transport 18 onits one-way loop. We let the 1642 journey (heading back where we came from) pass, and board the 1701 journey. We alight at Squires Gate (Blackpool Airport) at 1715 on Friday.
