Side note:
I find it most unusual that the minimum connection time at Brighton is ten minutes, but with the exception of changing between Southern services which is only four minutes. This means that you can technically transfer off a train from the West Coastway (platforms 1 and 2) to the East Coastway (platforms 7 and 8) within four minutes, bearing in mind they are complete opposite ends of the station, yet to transfer to the London bound services which you have to pass anyway, straddling the two, it's ten minutes!

We've just embarked on a journey towards Eastbourne and onwards to Kent, so let's head the opposite way towards the west now, instead exiting the station and taking the three minute walk to Seaford Library, where we board the 0958 Brighton and Hove Coaster service 12A to Saltdean (Chichester Drive West), arriving there at 1035 on Tuesday morning.

We walk (3 min / 0.1 mile) to Palace Pier stop N where we board Brighton & Hove's Breeze service 77 at 1115. We alight at the Devils Dyke at 1150 on Tuesday, knowing full well that this means our next journey is very predictable, but nevertheless this is a good opportunity to have a nice scenic ride 8-)
