We cross the road to the bus stop outside the Hospice Shop, and wait for the 2214 Stagecoach Highlands service 25A to Dingwall, Station arriving at 2245 on Friday.

We enter the station and board the 2321 ScotRail 2H76 to Inverness, arriving there at 2354 on Friday evening.

We wait for a few hours overnight and return for the 0456 Scotrail service to Insch arriving there at 0627 on Saturday morning.

We next board the 0728 ScotRail service 1A04 to Dyce, arriving there at 0755 on Saturday morning.

We then board the 1011 London North Eastern Railway service 1E15 to York, arriving there at 1455 on Saturday afternoon.

Well annoyingly, it looks as if the 164 from outside the station doesn't run on weekends! Which seems very bizarre. So, we'll have to slum it on the platform for an hour, watching all the express services pass through non-stop, before boarding the 1622 Northern service 2T22 to Garforth, arriving there at 1628 on Saturday afternoon.

Next we take the 1646 Transpennine Express service to Stalybridge arriving at 1736 on Saturday.

We exit the station to the bus stop outside and board the 1758 First Manchester service 348 to Ashton-under-Lyne (Interchange), arriving there at 1809 on Saturday evening.

We take the 1825 Stagecoach Manchester service 7 to Stockport, Merseyway Precinct, arriving at 1915 on Saturday.

We walk for 9 minutes, 0.4 mile to the Railway Station to wait for the 1940 Transport for Wales service to Abergavenny arriving at 2215 on Saturday.

With seemingly no buses this late on a Saturday in Abergavenny, our only option is to board 1V66, Transport for Wales's 2324 service towards Cardiff. We alight at Cwmbran at 2338 on Saturday.

We return the next morning for the 0903 Transport for Wales service to Leominster arriving there at 1000 on Sunday morning.

We take 10 minutes to walk the 0.5 mile to the Bus Station, where we board the 1200 Lugg Valley Travel service 492, alighting at Moreton-on-Lugg (St Peter's Close) at 1228 on Sunday.

Having no Sunday buses, we leave here at 1523 on Transport for Wales's 1V17. We alight at Pyle at 1736 on Sunday.

We may as well make a day of it and take the 1835 Transport for Wales service to the end of the line at Milford Haven arriving there at 2120 on Sunday.

We have a few hours to wait overnight before taking the 0435 Transport for Wales service to Nantwich arriving at 0715 on Monday morning.

We take advantage of the overngiht rule and, declining the option to go up and down the valleys for the next day, we leave on 1W90, Transport for Wales' 0512 service. As we are still half-asleep, we nod off and wake up and the end of the line at Holyhead at 1008 on Monday.
