Well, we do seem to be trapped in the Leicester bus black hole and it's a bit too far to walk to South Wigston railway station. So we have no choice but to follow the force field. To provide a bit of variety we walk 400 yards to the Sturdee Road (The Exchange) bus stop and wait for the 16:11 Centrebus (North) service 40 to Crown Hills (General Hospital) where we arrive at 16:45 on Tuesday afternoon.

Agreed. I've always thought that Leicester is a strange one in that the Arriva network in particular is just services that radiate to and from the city centre and back, so you feel as if you're just constantly just returning to and from the city centre with no other interchanges en route! Very much a City Centre to A and back then to B and back. The First network isn't so bad because they're usually cross city routes, but I've always found the Arriva network quite dull.

Anyway, moving along, we take the 7 minute walk to the railway station and board the 1741 East Midlands Railway service 1F56 to Leeds, arriving there at 1939 on Tuesday evening.

Can only think of one First route that is cross city, the 54 (soon to be split) Centrebus offer some different options but we seem to avoid them. As with anywhere there are plenty of options to move between routes and areas, but hey ho we're back at Leeds!

Leeds seems to be an area we frequent regularly, although it does have good train links. We'll take the 1949 Northern service to Ribblehead arriving at 2108 on Tuesday.
