Our only option here is to take advantage of the overnight rule, and then take 6 minutes to walk the 0.3 mile to The Crown bus stop on Church St. We then board the 0746 Reading Buses jet black service 1, and take it as far as Newbury (Wharf, stop H) arriving at 0827 on Sunday.

With a lack of onward bus connections that early in the morning on a Sunday (apart from doubling back on the 1), we take the short 10 minute walk down to Newbury Railway Station and board the 0854 Great Western Railway service towards Reading, Alighting at Reading West Station at 0921 on Sunday morning.

We are really short of options here on a Sunday morning, so we wait until 12:47 for the next Reading Buses Orange service 13 to North Earley (Shepherds Hill Top) where we arrive at 13:16 on Sunday afternoon.

It being Sunday evening, we are limited to southbound journeys on the 144. Therefore we cross the road and board the 1833 First Worcestershire The Salt Road service 144, alighting at Droitwich Spa (Ombersley St E, stop 3) at 1840 on Sunday.

Not masses of options here as there are very few Sunday bus services and certainly nothing in the evening, so we take the 2232 Cross Country service to Leicester (sorry!) arriving at 2248 on Sunday, but there will be options from there.

I think that may only be a STP working; I can't seem to find that service on the regular WTT or on XC's website.

Are we able to break the 5 min rule in exceptional circumstances?
We have a choice of either getting stuck in the land of pork pies overnight from 2128 (early!) or going with a 4 min connection into the 2132, arriving at Leicester at 2149.

In which case we will wait overnight as there is nothing else from here. We return the following morning for the 0536 East Midlands Railway service to Oakham arriving at 0548 on Monday morning.

We are too far from the town centre to have any alternative to First's Excel services, so we take the short hop into town on the 1520 First Norfolk & Suffolk Excel service C, alighting in Wisbech (Horse Fair Bus Station) at 1525 on Monday.

Not a great deal of options here, so we next board the 1817 Stagecoach East Midlands service 50 to Long Sutton (Market Court), arriving there at 1830 on Monday evening.
