We feel like heading to Ashington now, and do so by departing on service 35 at 1731. We arrive at Ashington Bus Station at 1750 on Sunday.

I considered us departing on the 1654 service X21, as it seems that at Newbiggin the inward 35 (arr xx52) becomes the outward X21 (dep xx54), and vice versa (X21 arr xx29, 35 dep xx31) so it was likely to be the same vehicle but seemed a bit tenuous just in case!

We walk the 0.3 mile to the railway station (I'm surprised that the station appears not to be at the Interchange...) which takes us 6 minutes. We leave on 2N24, Northern's 1002 service, from which we alight at Gypsy Lane station at 1110 on Monday.

We exit the station and wait for the 15:10 Go North East service 185 to Birdoswald (Roman Fort car park*) where we arrive at 15:37 on Monday afternoon.

* = surprising that Roman forts had a car park, really!

We leave the station and take 6 minutes to walk the 0.3 mile to the stop on Westmorland Way called nr Westmorland Way **. There, we await Arriva Northumbria service X9 departing at 2049, and alighting at Blyth Broadway at 2115 on Monday.

** - the stop named "nr Westmorland Way", as opposed to the next stop, also on Westmorland Way, called "Westmorland Way".
