We take the nine minute walk to the railway station and, saying a farewell to Leicester for the time being, board the 2206 East Midlands Railway service 1C98 to St Pancras International, arriving there at 2316 on Friday evening.

Taking advantage of the overnight rule, we depart on 2V46, GWR's 0524 service towards Reading, which we take as far as Farnborough North, arriving at 0635 on Saturday morning.

Well this is rather problematic because Westbourne is only served once a day! There is obviously no service on a Sunday, and so I think our best bet is to hope there is somewhere where can stay for two nights and return in the morning for the 1019 Stagecoach South service 54 to Chichester (Cathedral), arriving there at 1043 on Monday morning.

PWe walk the 3 minutes to the Robinson Way stop on Anchorage Road and await the Portsmouth, Fareham & Gosport service PC3 which departed Portsmouth College at 1615, and stops here at approximatley 1618. We alight at Fareham Bus Station at 1655 on Monday.

All we can do here is either go to Gosport and then return northwards (as Gosport is tucked in a cove), or carry on north to begin with. We take the latter option and board the 1949 First Portsmouth, Fareham & Gosport Eclipse service E2 to Fareham (Station Roundabout), arriving there at 2009 on Monday evening.

Another option would have been Gosport then the ferry to Portsmouth...

We enter the railway station and board 2T62, SWR's 2028 service towards London. We alight at Winchester at 2100 on Monday.

As far as I can tell, there aren't any more buses for the remainder of the evening with the exception of a final service 2 to Fair Oak, but we'd somehow have to get back from there anyway, so, we walk across to the railway station and board the 2331 South Western Railway service 1T73 to Portsmouth & Southsea, arriving there at 0011 in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
