We next take the 10 min (0.5 mile) walk to Liverpool South Parkway station and board 2K99, West Midlands Trains' 2345 service, from which we alight at Crewe at 0023 on Wednesday morning.

As that was the last northbound service of the day, all we can do is return south, so we board the 1850 First South and West Wales TrawsCymru service 460 to Carmarthen (Bus Station), arriving there at 2008 on Wednesday evening.

Being mindful of how infrequent public transport is in west Wales, the evenings in particular, we swiftly return on the 2213 Transport for Wales service to Whitland, arriving there at 2256 on Wednesday evening.

Again one of those situations (quite common annoyingly with Arriva!) where this route simply radiates out of the city centre to the suburbs and has no other connections en route, so all we can do here is return on the same vehicle, the 1351 Arriva Midlands service 20 back to Shrewsbury (New Street), arriving there at 1401 on Thursday afternoon.
