Perfect timing to transfer onto the 1950 Transport for Wales service 2E60 to Cadoxton, arriving there at 2057 on Saturday evening.

I think that's a Monday to Friday service, I can't seem to find a Saturday equivalent for it...either that or I can't read these wonderful new timetables

It's because this Saturday, there is planned engineering works and then the following Saturday TfW have reverted back to a normal timetable as they optimistically believe the lockdown will be lifted!

We take the 2106 Transport for Wales service to Grangetown arriving at 2119 on Saturday.

Ah right sorry about that. This is a perfect example of the problems of following COVID timetables but not engineering works Think I'll leave you two to it on Cardiff trains!

We exit the station (via the lethal steps) and take the two minute walk to the bus stop opposite Stockland Street, where we board the 2126 Cardiff Bus service 9 to University Hospital of Wales (Central Way/Main Entrance), arriving there at 2157 on Saturday evening.

Sadly not, as Bay trains only run to and from Queen Street!

Yes thought that was the case but RTT said otherwise...more engineering works is it? I must admit I give up with Cardiff trains at the moment, I'm not allowed to use either the current operational timetable or the working timetable.

Let's try again on a bus, this time we board the 12:40 New Adventure Travel service 304 to Cadoxton, after Weston Square, arriving at 13:06 Sunday afternoon.

We take the 7 minute 0.3 mile walk to Cadoxton Railway Station, and as we wanted to head east we are disappointed to find the Bridgend train is only every two hours, so seems too long to wait for it. Instead we board the 1341 Transport for Wales service to Barry Island arriving at 1354 on Sunday.

There's engineering works this Sunday. If you select it for next Sunday it's the correct timetable.

Unfortunately the local train service isn't running on a Sunday, so after the 7 minute 0.4 mile walk to the Railway Station its back on Cardiff Bus we go, on the 1722 Cardiff Bus service 21 to Whitchurch, Park Road (Library) arriving at 1736 on Sunday.

We are but today is also COVID timetables + engineering works. Fairwater doesn't have a Sunday service at all.

For anyone using Real Time Trains, use next Sunday (17th) as that is the correct timetable.
