There's not a lot going on here but fortunately the Chinese restaurant is open, so we go for a meal before returning for the 21:53 Courtney Buses service 10 to Windsor Parish Church, arriving at 22:08 Sunday evening.

We're well past the time of any buses, so in our desperation to escape Slough we board the 23:15 Great Western Railway service 2N90 to Didcot Parkway, arriving at 00:20 early Monday morning.

Thankful of our ability to stay overnight in Didcot and not Slough, we have a short nap on the station platform (no point staying in a hotel) and board the 05:27 Great Western Railway service to Tackley, arriving there at 05:49 on a Monday.

D'oh...I was hoping for the 00:35 to Bristol ;)

From Tackley we wake 8 minutes to walk the 0.4 miles to the Village Hall, where we board the 06:38 Stagecoach Oxfordshire service S4 'Gold' to Oxford, opp St Margarets Road east, arriving at 07:02 Monday morning.

Not that it matters as your move is still valid but there's regular services from Sunnymeads station :)

The above refers to the currently existing rules of the quiz that were re-written from those of the previous version on the quiz by the forum quizmaster team when they closed that version and relaunched the current version, after consultation with the two long-serving contributors of that previous version of the quiz. There have been a number of requests made to the forum quizmaster team since that date concerning amendments and additions to these current rules on certain "bones of contention", but none of these were acted upon by the forum quizmaster team. Therefore, whatever the feelings expressed by quiz contributors are on postings, if a posting does not abrogate the written rules that exist at the time a posting is made, then it must be allowed to stand.

With regards to a return to the previous posting arrival point, is it not the case that postings have been made previously in past years on that very same basis? If one has to take a pedantic view of matters, looking at the wording stated in the rules above, there is nothing whatsoever to rule out such a posting.

Not wishing to become involved in further discussion on the matter in hand, I have now struck-through the posting that I made.

Yes, it has happened before, hence why we now ensure we do not return to the same destination.

It's all very well saying your move is valid but if a previous move is challenged and is incorrect then you simply strike through yours as well.

Furthermore, if the challenged move causes no further issues upon investigation then we continue as normal.

Oops, I somehow missed the fact there was a station 500m away!

From here we board the 08:35 Langston & Tasker service 18 to Padbury Main Street, arriving at 09:18 Monday morning.

You can actually cut out some of the wait by walking the 0.4 miles to the main road for the 60 at 10:25 or 10:49 (I would have dropped us closer but the bus doesn’t stop there).

Ooh okay, let's do that then! :)

We then take the as mentioned walk to the New Inn, where we board the 0946 Arriva Beds & Bucks service X60 to Milton Keynes (The Point), arriving there at 1025 on Monday morning.

I had said previously that there was nothing in the rules to say that the said posting to which I made a posting response was incorrect, which it was not, as it did not go against the strictures of the rules that were drawn up by the forum quizmaster team, which surely take preference over the personally-held views of quiz contestants in matters such as this. If the forum quizmaster team had previously been approached by a quiz contestant to make changes to the rules and they had chosen not to do so, then the following of the rules that are ruling at the time of a posting submission cannot be faulted.

As it appears that my attempts to draw attention to the relevant sections of both the forum-quizmaster-written rules and guide notes are seen as something of an irrelevelence to be ignored at will by certain contributors, it behoves me to take a sabbatical away from this particular thread.

Entering the adjacent railway station we now wait for the 16:18 LNER service 1S23 to Haymarket, arriving at 20:20 Monday evening.

Could @DanTrainMan185 and @Xenophon PCDGS please move their discussion somewhere else? I apologise for my mistake, but this back-and-forth is getting tedious.

It's too late for buses round here so we instead wait for this train to head up to Dunblane and back before boarding the return journey, the 22:01 ScotRail service 2P70 for one stop down to Stirling, arriving at 22:05 Monday evening.

We decide to take the night here before waking up for the first train of the morning, the 05:08 ScotRail service 1H03 to Carrbridge, arriving at 07:12 Tuesday morning.

I agree! I don't really see what else there is to discuss. Believe me I've tried to walk away. Don't know why this is continuing.....

We then board the 0915 Abellio ScotRail service 1T98 to Glasgow Queen Street, arriving there at 1206 on Thursday afternoon.

Not sure what the Sleeper to Inverness did wrong, but I guess you're just within the 2 hours so can't quibble! :)

From Queen Street we walk 8 minutes (0.4 miles) to Buchannan Street bus station, where we board the 12:30 Scottish Citylink service 976 to Taynuilt, at Hotel, arriving at 15:03 Tuesday afternoon.

I'm afraid that that brakes the 2 hour rule (by 3 minutes, but still). There is a departure from Carrbridge before that point (07:57 to Inverness).

See my post above. Therefore, your move is also invalid.

Sorry people!

You shouldn't wait for more than two hours after the first available service (to any destination) has left, after allowing for the minimum interchange time.
There's technically a 5 minute interchange time at Carrbridge, so I think it's actually permissable (just)!

Apologies, didn't see the potential move to Inverness. Whilst we are in the Highlands I don't think a 2-hour wait is acceptable so shall we return to Carrbridge for Inverness or remain where we are? Either way please continue on my behalf :)

I'll choose to continue from here.

Just missing trains in both directions, we are glad it is a school holiday because that means we can board the 15:14 West Coast Motors route 15 service to Oban, Station Road, arriving there at 15:44 on a Tuesday.

Irritatingly, Tuesday is the only day when there isn't a 16:30 ferry to Colonsay, so instead we opt to keep our feet dry and wait for the 17:10 West Coast Motors service 18 to Ellenabeich, at Turning Area, arriving at 18:08 Tuesday evening.

We take the 2 minute walk down to the Easdale Seil Ferry Landing to board the 18:20 Argyll & Bute Council Ferries route EAS service to Easdale Island Ferry Landing, arriving there at 18:25 on a Tuesday.

I think (if I've read the timetable correctly!), that that's it for the day, so we find some lodgings on this delightful island (must be one of the best nights we've had in this game!) before having a full Scottish breakfast and heading down to the landing stage for the 07:15 (don't worry, we booked ahead for the early crossing) Argyll & Bute Council Ferries route EAS service back to Easdale Seil Ferry Landing, arriving at 07:20 Wednesday morning.

This is a bit approximate, the timetable is quite unclear/ hard to read!
