This is a delightful station, but there is absolutely zilch going on so we make our intent clear and hop on the 16:28 Great Western Railway service 2O90 back to Maiden Newton, arriving at 16:46 Saturday afternoon.

That appears to be it for the remainder of the night now, so the following morning we return to the bus stops. We can either take the 0911 Stagecoach West service 49 to Swindon but instead we take the three minute walk to the bus stop on New Park Street, where we make a head start as we board the 0815 National Express service 402 to Heathrow Airport (Central Bus Station), arriving there at 1020 on Sunday morning.

We next board the 1151 London Sovereign service H14 to Northolt Park (Northolt Park Hospital) that arrives there at 1206 on Sunday afternoon.

Just to double check sorry Paul, do you mean Northwick Park Hospital?

If so, we then board the 1227 Metroline service 186 to Hendon Central Station, arriving there at 1339 on Sunday afternoon.

Did you realise that I had already made an onward posting from that stated posting to Welwyn Garden City railway station ..... Is there a query on that posting of mine?

I still maintain that the posting that I made from New Barnet station to Welwyn Garden City station was valid as it followed on from the last posting on the thread at that time and should have been the posting from where this quiz continued.

Yeah but we agreed a while ago that returning where we'd just come from wasn't acceptable, particuarly in London where there are lots of options, and since your move followed on from that one it becomes invalid as well, sorry :)

A second attempt sees us on the 15:59 London Sovereign route 79 service to Alperton Station, arriving there at 16:49 on a Sunday.
Here, we enter the station and board the 17:07 Piccaddilly Line service to Uxbridge, arriving at 17:33 Sunday afternoon.

I did not no, as you had only posted five minutes beforehand, but irrespective of that the previous move was still invalid which makes all of the other moves invalid.

Well no because the post before yours was technically invalid, as it took us straight to where we had just come from. Therefore a move from New Barnet to Welwyn Garden City wouldn't be the last valid move because we remained at Edgware before a new move was posted, going to Alperton. We can't just replay from random points throughout the game.

Here, we enter the station and board the 17:07 Piccaddilly Line service to Uxbridge, arriving at 17:33 Sunday afternoon.

We are now back on track.

We then board the 1749 Metroline service 222 to Harlington (Boltons Lane), arriving there at 1819 on Sunday evening.

Walk through the car park opposite McDonalds and you're right at the start of the main runway at Heathrow!

Rules
  • You may not re-board the service just used in the previous post
  • You should use the first available service to reach your destination after allowing for the minimum interchange time. An exception to this applies where the following service is formed of the same exact vehicle as the preceding service (applicable all day).
  • You shouldn't wait for more than two hours after the first available service (to any destination) has left, after allowing for the minimum interchange time. Night services in the UK can be quite limited, so when the previous move arrives at its destination after 2300 you are allowed to wait until 0500 the next day if you wish.
The above refers to the currently existing rules of the quiz that were re-written from those of the previous version on the quiz by the forum quizmaster team when they closed that version and relaunched the current version, after consultation with the two long-serving contributors of that previous version of the quiz. There have been a number of requests made to the forum quizmaster team since that date concerning amendments and additions to these current rules on certain "bones of contention", but none of these were acted upon by the forum quizmaster team. Therefore, whatever the feelings expressed by quiz contributors are on postings, if a posting does not abrogate the written rules that exist at the time a posting is made, then it must be allowed to stand.

With regards to a return to the previous posting arrival point, is it not the case that postings have been made previously in past years on that very same basis? If one has to take a pedantic view of matters, looking at the wording stated in the rules above, there is nothing whatsoever to rule out such a posting.

Not wishing to become involved in further discussion on the matter in hand, I have now struck-through the posting that I made.
