Fancying some sleep, we opt for the 22:52 Transport for Wales service 1D19 to Holyhead, arriving at 02:15 Saturday morning (when we’re rudely awaken by an equally sleepy guard!).

There aren't any more services until the following morning now (which by this point is only two hours later), so we board the 0425 Transport for Wales service 1V91 to Pontyclun, taking advantage of the fact the first service runs through to Maesteg, arriving there at 0929 on Saturday morning.

We leave the railway station and take the four minute walk to the bus stop on Cowbridge Road before Tesco and there board the 0942 First South and West Wales service 64 to Coychurch (White Horse on Coychurch Road) that arrives there at 1013 on Saturday morning.

Struggling to find a White Horse on Coychurch Road, but there is a nearby one near the junction of Main Road and Heol-Y-Capel.

Assuming this is the right place, we take the 1029 NAT Buses service 404 to Bridgend, Bus Station arriving there at 1043 on Saturday.

Retracing our steps slightly due to little availability of options so early on a Sunday, we take the 0455 Transpennine Express service to Leeds arriving there at 05:35 on Sunday morning.

There's not a lot going on here, so we head off to find a 24-hour McDonalds for breakfast and a warm drink, and then head out to the Headrow for the 07:12 First Leeds service X84 to Ben Rhydding, opp Denton Bridge, arriving at 08:05 Sunday morning.
