We take the 5 minute walk to Upper Park Road where we board the 19:10 Taf Valley Coaches service to Llwyn-y-Brain, near Pen-y-Back, arriving there at 19:43 on a Tuesday.

That would appear to be it for the night, so we bed down in the somewhat primitive-looking bus shelter. All this travelling is tiring, so we take the opportunity to sleep in, rousing ourselves for 5 to ten, when the first two buses arrive almost at once. We opt for the 09:56 Taf Valley Coaches service 224 to Whitland, before Bryngwenllian, arriving at 10:07 Wednesday morning.

We take the ten minute walk to Whitland station, where we board the 1146 Transport for Wales service 1W16 to Crewe, arriving there at 1628 on Wednesday afternoon.

We then take the 1649 London Northwestern Railway service to Stafford arriving there at 1709 on Wednesday.

Here, we decide to go and visit a station that is sadly no more. We board the 17:15 West Midlands Trains scheduled bus service to Norton Bridge Station, arriving at 17:33 Wednesday evening.

With there not being any trains from the station, we wait for the next bus which is the 08:53 D&G Bus route 13 service to Stone, Stafford Street, arriving there at 09:02 on a Thursday.

Oh I hadn’t realised that was the last bus! Talking of which, that service is finally being withdrawn in March, so that may be our last ever visit to Norton Bridge!
