It is an optional stop. I think the rule should be you can stop if Service becomes limited because we’ve had to stop before 23:00 before due to being in a remote area but haven’t stayed up to explore cities with night transport due to the 23:00 rule.

My point exactly. It's handy if we're in a remote location but as you say, London never sleeps so it shouldn't be permitted there.

Possibly an edit to say that the day ends when the transport does. If we can go through the night, we do, otherwise, we sleep over and start when the transport re-starts.
