It's harder than you think to escape the highlands :lol:

We’re just short on connection time to make the VTEC train we made last Tuesday to Aberdeen, so dreaming instead of Plymouth (we just didn’t get or enjoy it last time!), we board the 15:08 Cross Country service 1C68 to Plymouth, arriving at 23:44 Tuesday evening.

Fed up of intercity trains, we instead choose to leave the station and board the 17:13 First Scotland East service 17 to Slamannan, after Balcastle Road, arriving at 17:32 Wednesday afternoon.

We then take a 9 minute (0.4 mile) walk to Falkirk Grahamston, where we board the 18:39 Scotrail service 2P37 to Bridge of Allan, arriving at 19:01 Wednesday evening.

The Highlands are close at hand again! Feeling stimulated by the Stirlingshire air, we have a quick tea before boarding the 20:04 Stagecoach in Perth route 15A bus service from outside the station to Pitcairngreen (Hotel). We arrives there at 21:25 on Wednesday evening.

Looks like we're stuck here overnight, so we then board the 06:56 Stagecoach East Scotland service 14 to Perth, at Elibank Street, arriving at 07:27 Thursday morning.

We call it a day and retire to the Royal Hotel on Lamington Street. On Friday morning, we stroll to the railway station and board the 08:17 ScotRail train service to Thurso, arriving there at 10:59.
