Luckily a Wolverhampton to Shrewsbury service follows hot in pursuit, so we board the 0036 Arriva Trains Wales service 2J98 to Shrewsbury, arriving there at 0058 in the early hours of Thursday morning.
(I assume it is a college day for the following move).
We got to the adjacent bus stop, and wait for the 461 Sargeant's bus service to arrive at 06:35. This bus goes back into England, specifically to Hereford. We only take the bus as far as Kington Mill Street Car Park, arriving at 07:13 on Thursday morning.
We continue border hopping. It's some time until our bus arrives, at 09:45. The Arriva Midland 740 service takes us back into Englandshire, and we ride the route to its terminus at Ludlow Assembly Rooms, arriving at 10:40 on Thursday morning.
Taking the nine minute walk along King Street to the station, which is just within the permitted 0.5 mile transfer, we then board the 1132 Arriva Trains Wales service 1W12 to Stockport, arriving there at 1258 on Thursday afternoon.
We take the 1700 Wyre Marine Services ferry to Knott End, arriving 1710 on Thursday afternoon, using the timetable of 23rd March (there are some times of the day it can't run, depending on the tide).
From the adjacent North Crescent, we then board the 1943 Blackpool Transport service 10 to Blackpool (Lonsdale Road), arriving there at 2017 on Thursday evening.
That appears to be it for the majority of services across the Manchester empire, so we call it a night before boarding the 0538 Metrolink service to St Werburgh's Road, arriving there at 0609 on Friday morning.
We are able to walk a half mile down Nell Lane and onto Mauldeth Road West, taking about ten minutes to do so. We have plenty of time to catch the 06:47 Stagecoach Greater Manchester service towards Bolton - we take this bus as far as Urmston Library (Stop E) which is on Crofts Bank Road. We arrive at 07:12 on Friday morning.
This being the only service to call here, we decide to explore the area and just 0.2 miles away we come across another bus stop, at Irlam Road/Towns Gate. In addition to the 15, it is served by the X58 and the bus we get on, the 256. We leave at 07:50 and take the bus to Old Trafford, Trafford Bar (Chester Road). We arrive here at 08:42 on Friday morning.
We take the short (8 minute walk) to Manchester Piccadilly and board the 1307 Cross Country Service to Stafford where we arrive there at 1400 Friday afternoon
Having walked four minutes to the bus station, we take the 1750 255 National Express West Midlands service to Merry Hill shopping centre, arriving 1902 on Friday evening.
