In the absence of any night buses in Ramsgate, that's us for the night. We catch a few hours shut-eye before boarding the first rail service of the morning; the 04:30 Southeastern service 2K56 to London Victoria. We take the service as far as St Mary Cray, and alight at 06:10 on Saturday morning.

This seems to be one of those infuriating little towns that has lots of interesting bus services that don't run on weekends! However, when we walk to Stop B on Market Place (<0.2mi from the crown hotel), we find a Damory Coaches X12 ready and waiting for its 11:43 departure. We take the bus to Dorchester (Acland Road Stop E). We take the bus to Dorchester South Station, arriving at 12:26. We note that it is now Saturday afternoon! ;)

Not quite sure why I put Saturday afternoon there!

We then board the 1256 First Wessex, Dorset and South Somerset service X51 to Bridport (Coach Station), arriving there at 1341 on Saturday afternoon.

In a move that frankly doesn't surprise me when it comes to bus travel, it seems that the bus stop's namesake bank is actually permanently closed. Well done, bus planners!

Having enjoyed the journey here, we cross the road and head back the way we came. However, instead of boarding another bus that just goes to the city centre, we wait for the Stagecoach South West T service, which pulls up at 18:21. We ride this service almost to its terminus at Topsham Railway Station, arriving at 19:04 on Saturday evening.

That appears to be it for the rest of the day, so we board the 0900 Stagecoach South West service 1 to Derriford (Hospital), arriving there at 0933 on Sunday morning.

Tavistock is quiet tonight, with only a couple of the multi-story casino hotels seemingly doing business. The town is gearing up for Spring Break, however, where hundreds of sun, sex and sangria hungry American twenty year olds will land at nearby Chaddlehanger International to sample the debauchery that Tavistock is known for the world o'er.
We politely excuse ourselves from the game of Russian roulette we've been playing all evening with those very nice Salvadorian drug barons who were preparing for a run over the border to Launceston and return to the bus station, where, in search of a place even more resembling the fall of Saigon, we board the 09:30 Plymouth Citybus 46 to Okehampton, where we alight on Market Street at 10:22 this Sunday morning
Edit - disregard, beaten to it

So is this our last move?

Indeed, it is the last move. As we alight from the bus, we collapse into a heap. Our proximity to the hospital comes in handy, as a nurse coming off night shift runs over and starts resuscitation, which continues in the emergency department. In spite of an hour of CPR, we don't make it. Our next move takes us in a hearse to the local cemetery.

OK, that doesn't really happen, let's move on.

At 10:00, we get on a Plymouth Buses 50 service and travel as far as Plymouth Road Superstore (bus stop near the big Sainsbury's), arriving at 10:27 on Sunday morning.

Then go into the station (Victoria Road) and discover the two-hourly service to Gunnislake has just left (10 minutes) so you wait the hour and a half for the next station, to Plymouth, the 12:41, arriving at 12:52 Sunday afternoon.

Anxious to find a form of transport even more squalid than a Sunday afternoon Voyager; we head for the Sheffield Supertram; boarding the 18:38 Halfway bound Blue Line service. Unfortunately our quest is unsuccessful as remarkably few people want to be in this somewhat unremarkable suburb on a rainy Sunday night; and the tram is an oasis of quiet and calm. We arrive in the realm of middle-class existential dread that south-east Sheffield is; and wishing to avoid the frankly Orwellian sounding Crystal Peaks; we alight at Birley Moor Road at 18:58 this Sunday Evening

Exiting the tram stop and walking the bus stop adjacent to Birley Lane tram stop, we then board the 1954 First South Yorkshire service 8 to Ecclesfield (Montenay Crescent), arriving there at 2050 on Sunday evening.

* Please do not use Traveline Yorkshire for this. The timetable for the 8 is completely different to that of the First timetable.
