Walking around the corner to the Nags Head, we then board the 1537 Metroline service 43 to Friern Barnet (Library), arriving there at 1627 on Monday afternoon.

Boarding the 16:35 Arriva London North service 221 we peruse the list of destinations. Few leap out and grab us until we see the immortal name of the capitalist utopia that is the "Wood Green Shopping City". An entire city for shopping! Such decadence! Acres upon acres dedicated entirely to the process of bartering! Are these the last days of Sodom?
Twenty odd minutes later the only real question we have is how such a run-down dystopian edifice that would barely be tolerated in the most backwater-y of provincial towns has somehow managed to survive in zone 3.
With an existential groan we alight at the Wood Green Shopping City at 16:54 on this Monday afternoon.

Sprinting down the stairs to the southbound platform of the station; by some stretch of a miracle we manage to catch the very last southbound train all the way to the terminus at East Finchley; where we arrive at 01:03 on this Tuesday morning

After a brief lunchtime sample of the wares of Shepherd Neame (which is mandatory in Faversham; just like a hot dog in New York; chicken rice in Singapore or a Wasabi at Waterloo) we head for more pastoral climes. Boarding 1S38 at 14:24; we travel to the cosmopolitan hub of Snowdown; where we arrive at 14:52 this Tuesday afternoon
