Not too long to wait at this hour on a Sunday before we board the 2227 East Midlands Trains service 1F79 to Sheffield, arriving there at 0012 in the early hours of Monday morning.

Don't want to jinx it but have any of you noticed I haven't fluffed up the days of the week we're on for a while?!

I contemplated either another shuttle around Greater Manchester's extensive public transport system or a return to the north east. However, I opted for neither of these!

We then board the 0547 Northern service 2A90 to Crewe, arriving there at 0622 on Monday morning.

There is from Crewe, however, a 0639 to Bristol ;)

We stock up on supplies in the adjoining Tesco before changing modes of transport, this time boarding the 13:30 Silcox Coaches 356 service. It takes us over the Cleddau Bridge to yet another Tesco - Tesco Pembroke Dock, arriving there at 14:03 on Monday afternoon.

That's okay, many of the Manchester to South Wales services do have very long layovers at Cardiff!

We then board the 1233 Arriva Trains Wales service 2E13 to Swansea, arriving there at 1322 on Monday afternoon.

Not many onward options at this time of day from this area, so we decide upon another long stopping train ride upon the HOW line and with Llangynllo being a request stop, we give a clear signal to the driver of the next available train and board the 1931 ATW service to Pontarddulais that arrives there at 2142 on Monday evening

Just as I was about to tell Paul off for leaving us stranded overnight instead of taking us to a larger station such as Swansea ( ) we find a bus still exists in this neck of the woods, so we exit to the station and cross the road to the Black Lion, where we board the 2202 First South & West Wales/Cymru service X13 to Ammanford (Bus Station), arriving there at 2219 on Monday evening.

Well we still seem to be stranded overnight........

The first transport out in the morning seems to be the 0542 ATW train to Llandovery where we arrive at 0621 Tuesday morning.

It seems to be exactly half a mile between stations

I did have a 0700 bus journey ready to Abergwili from Llandovery (Morris Travel 281) but by the time I managed to get off the phone, the last journey to Nantwich had already been posted....

Glad that someone did recognise that there was that recent late bus journey from Pontarddulais to Ammanford was available to use...:D

With no more departures, we call it a night before getting the first service available out at 06:29, fully at the mercy of ATW for the journey to Dyffryn Ardudwy arriving at 07:32 on Wednesday morning.

We have a little bit of time to have a bite to eat before boarding the 1827 First Southampton service E2 to Eastleigh (Bus Station), arriving there at 1845 on Wednesday afternoon.

Edit, that is actually quite a long wait when the 1 is frequent.

Instead we board the 1716 Bluestar service 1 to Southampton (Hanover Buildings), arriving there at 1805 on Wednesday evening.
