A bout of 'nowhere' syndrome sounds fun, so at 2001 we return to the station to board the ScotRail service to the bustling city of Altnabreac, arriving at 2151 Thursday night.

Well how did I know that'd happen!

We obviously have to call it a night now, where we board the 0903 Abellio ScotRail service 2H56 to Dingwall, arriving there at 1149 on Friday morning.

Unfortunately, you have just duplicated my posting two postings ago

Ach, too much banter on here  No harm done. In fact, the last two posters have done the same thing ;)

The 12:10 Stagecoach Highlands number 21 bus takes us to the tip of the Black Isle, arriving at Cromarty (opp Victoria Hall) at 12:56 on Friday afternoon.

How strange: I could swear Dan's post wasn't there when I posted mine, yet I can't see how it took me so long to reply. And then we took the same train to the same place...spooky <D

We fancy a trip on a boat, an urge we satisfy by walking 0.2mi to the ferry terminal and realising we just missed a ferry. We waste 25 minutes in the local pub before heading back to the terminal and boarding the 1330 ferry to Nigg, arriving at 1340 Friday afternoon.

Sorry to be the harbinger of bad tidings, but there is a note on that ferry timetable to say that on 30th September 2015, it ceased running for the winter period.

We are fortunate to find a Monday/Wednesday/Friday service running, so we next board the 1310 Stagecoach Highlands service 21 to Dingwall (Opposite Tesco on Newton Road) that arrives there at 1358 on Friday afternoon.

All remaining transport modes cease to operate now, so we call it a night before walking to the Tower Garage bus stop where we board the 0907 Arriva North West service 130 to Manchester (Portland Street/Chinatown), arriving there at 1020 on Saturday morning.

It's a half a mile walk to the tram stop at North Pier, where the trams are still running. We make it in time for the last northbound tram of the night, leaving at 23:32. We take the tram to its Fleetwood Ferry terminus, arriving there at 00:10 on Sunday morning.
