The eponymous tram stop is in fact a 0.4 mile walk away, so it takes us eight minutes to make that journey. When we arrive there, we get on a Northbound Metrolink tram bound for Rochdale Town Centre, which leaves at 18:43. We take it as far as Trafford Bar, where we alight at 18:58 on Saturday evening.

Your tram wouldn't have gone to Rochdale, as the Metrolink is currently severed in two with the major works taking place at St Peter's Square, and so we are limited where we can go. However, the most recent line of the network to have opened, the Airport Line, remains unaffected by these changes, so we board the 1904 Metrolink service to Shadowmoss, arriving there at 1939 on Saturday evening.

We're stuck in Peak Dales for the night, the last bus having just left. No hotels, so we go for a pint or ten and set up camp. We set our alarms for the first bus of the morning, which is another High Peak service 199, pulling in at 09:12. It takes us back the way we came, heading towards the Airport. We get off at Whaley Bridge Station at 09:35 on Sunday morning.

We next board the 1019 High Peak service 61 to Hayfield bus station that arrives there at 1041 on Sunday morning.

We're in another town that seems to shut down on Sundays. There's a plethora of bus services from this station, but we can only find two running at the weekend.

Sadly, we just miss a bus towards Stockport by one minute (damn you, 5 minute connection time!), so we have to wait a whole hour and catch the 11:45 Stagecoach Manchester 358 service towards Stockport Bus Station, arriving at 12:35 on Sunday afternoon.

We head to the nearby rail station, getting there just in time for the 1253 First TransPennine Express service to Manchester Airport, where we arrive at 1329 on Sunday afternoon.

We make our way up the stairs into the bus station and board the 1345 High Peak service 199 to Chapel en le Frith (New Inn) that arrives there at 1457 on Sunday afternoon.

At 13:50, we change back onto the buses and catch the National Express NX350 service, which we take to Leicester St Margaret's Bus Station. We arrive there at 19:30 on Sunday evening.

We're back in the land of no buses on a Sunday. Try as we might, we cannot find a bus that isn't numbered 199 or operated by High Peak. So we have no option but to continue our journey to Buxton on the aforementioned service, the next bus arriving at 15:57. We alight at Buxton Market Place at 16:23 on Sunday afternoon.

We then board the 1700 High Peak service 61 to Glossop (Henry Street), arriving there at 1756 on Sunday evening.

After taking the two minute walk to the bus stop outside the Market Hall on High Street West, we then board the 1805 Stagecoach Manchester service 202 to Hyde bus station that arrives there at 1841 on Sunday evening.

We decide against going to the railway station as, sadly, there are no train services here on a Sunday (surprise surprise...).

However, in contrast with our luck through the rest of the day, there actually are a reasonable number of bus services on Sundays here in Hyde. So it's not long until we find a suitable service, and at 18:56 we get onboard a Stagecoach Manchester 330 service bound for Ashton Under Lyne Bus Station. We arrive there at 19:09 on Sunday evening.

Luckily the 184 bus runs very frequently, even on a Sunday. We board the 2021 First Manchester service 184 to Newton Heath (Dean Lane), arriving there at 2104 on Sunday evening.

That was the last service of the day from this location, so we call it a night before boarding the 0604 First Pioneer (I'm presuming this is a sub-division of First Manchester?) service 350 to Ashton (Bus Station), arriving there at 0623 on Monday morning.

It's a 0.3 mile walk to Aighburth Road, taking us 6 minutes. We find a bus stop at the Tesco, and at 09:28 an Arriva North West number 60 bus service pulls in. We take it around the outside of Liverpool, arriving at Wavertree Ventnor Road at 09:43 on Monday morning.

Wavertree Technology Park station is just a short walk further up Rathbone Road, so we head there before boarding the 1026 Northern service 2J30 to Patricroft, arriving there at 1107 on Monday morning.
