As a (fomer) local of the area, can I raise an alert that we may have our "Claytons" mixed up - between Clayton-le-Woods near Leyland (which the 109 bus goes through) and Clayton-le-Moors between Blackburn & Accrington, some significant distance away.

I suspect post #4383 should have alighted in Clayton-le-Woods.

I can't clarify things due to other commitments right now(and I'm happy to be proved wrong), but wanted to raise this before too many other posts

Now you mention it, you do seem to be right. Has my return to this quiz proved un-nerving to other contestants who then lose all sense of direction...

I just looked the previous posting which said Clayton-le- Moors and made a follow-on posting from there to Blackburn bus station.

Apologies, my autocorrect on my phone corrected it to Clayton-le-Moors for some bizarre reason.

Having said that, I do find it a bit on the daft side that two settlements with very close sounding names are so close together, which probably causes confusion.

We remain at Clayton-le-Woods (Woodsman) at 2007 on Tuesday evening having just alighted the 109.

By now we're almost on first-name terms with the drivers on route 109 as....

We board the 2156 Stagecoach in Lancashire Service 109 from Dawson Lane, alighting at Lostock Hall (Victoria Inn) at 2212 Tuesday evening.

We catch the last bus of the day on John Fishwick & Sons Service 111, departing the Black Bull at 2349 and terminating at Golden Hill Lane (Fishwick's Garage) at 2355 Tuesday night.

... and our friendly local (the Fishwick's driver) informs us we are now a mere 0.5 mile walk from Leyland station.

After walking to Leyland station, we make use of our sleeping bag until it's time to board the 0639 Northern service to Chorley, arriving 0648 on Wednesday morning.

It's less than ¼-mile to the main A6 road, where we wait at the London Rd / Torkington Rd bus stop for the 1058 Stagecoach Manchester Service 192 to Longsight (Plymouth Grove), arriving 1143 Wednesday morning.

We then call it a night before boarding 2G15*, the 0646 Arriva Trains Wales service to Wolverhampton, arriving there at 1010 on Thursday morning.

* Headcode changes to 1G15 upon attachment of the Aberystwyth portion of the train at Machynlleth.
