(There is a service at 1137 but we are a minute short on the connection time).

We next board the 1329 J & M Burns service 294 to Ythankbank (Waulkmill) that arrives there at 1419 on Friday afternoon.

We cross the road and take the Stagecoach Bluebird service 292 departing at 1531 and arrive at Methlick War Memorial at 1540. According to the Stagecoach timetable this bus changes route numbers there and continues as service 291 to Aberdeen, Union Square Bus Station, where we alight at 1655 on Friday afternoon.

Still heading northwards, we next board the 1740 Stagecoach Bluebird service 10 to Gollanfield (Ardershier Road End) that arrives there at 2117 on Friday evening.

We then cross the road and take the Stagecoach service 11A which departs at 2155 and alight at Nairn bus station where we arrive at 2222 on Friday evening.

Still time in the day to make a short omnibus journey, so we next board the 2322 Stagecoach Bluebird service 11A to Brodie (Brodie Castle) that arrives there at 2337 on Friday evening.

We then board the 0037 Stagecoach Bluebird service 11A to Elgin (Bus Station), arriving there at 0108 in the early hours of Saturday morning.

In the days of my youth, there were rail services to and from Ellon station, but alas no more, as this year sees the 50th anniversary of the station closure in 1965. The very early morning hour sees a long wait in front of us so eventually, we make our way to the bus stop on Market Street where we board the 0810 Stagecoach Bluebird service 61, which is a combined service, to Peterhead (Windmill Street) that arrives there at 0852 on Saturday morning.

Heading further south, we then board the 0900 Stagecoach Bluebird service 60 to Aberdeen (Union Square), arriving there at 1015 on Saturday morning.

Heading back northwards once again, we next board the 1025 Stagecoach Bluebird service 10 to Inverness bus station that arrives there at 1414 on Saturday afternoon.

After a restful night in Mallaig we look at the options for today - No buses, limited ferries and so we return to the railway station to catch the 1010 Scotrail service to Fort William where we arrive at 1132 on Sunday morning.

We leave the railway station and make the 6 minute walk to the Leisure Centre where we board the 1155 Stagecoach Highlands service 47 to Corpach (Annat Point) that arrives there at 1215 on Sunday afternoon.
