We decide a rural bus ride is still early enough to take, so we board the 1905 GHA Coaches service 289 to Lostock Gralam (Shell Garage on Fryer Road) that arrives there at 2007 on Saturday evening.
It seems to be almost exactly half a mile to the rail station so we make our way there and take the 2038 Northern service one stop to Plumley, arriving at 2041 Saturday evening
Leaving the station, we take the 3 minutes walk to the bus stop on Southworth Road and board the 2255 Arriva Merseyside service 34 to St Helens bus station that arrives there at 2323 on Saturday night.
After some research, it appears there's very little we can do but wait it out for the 1057 Arriva service back to St Helens Bus Station, where we arrive at 1124 on Sunday morning.
This now affords us a Sunday afternoon omnibus journey through to the lesser known but historically-steeped coastal plain area of West Lancashire, so we board the 1525 Stagecoach in Lancashire service 12A to New Longton (All Saints Church) that arrives there at 1615 on Sunday afternoon.
Luckily Bedford is one of only a few towns in the country that has a rail service 24 hours a day, seven days a week, so, by taking the nine minute walk to the railway station which is 0.4 miles away, we board 2W85, the 0042 Thameslink service to Three Bridges, arriving there at 0302 in the early hours of Monday morning.
Assuming Crystal Palace Parade is the same location as Fountain Road as I can't find a reference to Fountain Road but the N63 timetable gives the same 0547 arrival time at the Parade, we walk to Crystal Palace Parade Stop A and board the 0609 Arriva London South 450 service to West Croydon Bus Station where we arrive at 0634 on Monday morning.
Exiting the station and taking the short walk to Anchor Springs, we then board the 1145 Stagecoach South service 700 to Shoreham-by-Sea (High Street), arriving there at 1304 on Monday afternoon.
Keeping the omnibus as our chosen mode of travel, we next board the 1347 Brighton and Hove Bus and Coach service 2 to Steyning (Bramber Road) that arrives there at 1404 on Monday afternoon.
From around the corner by Ladies Mile Road shops we next board the 1641 Compass Travel service 56 to Brighton Old Steine Stop H, arriving at 1720 on Monday afternoon.
