I have been away from the website for much of the later part of yesterday and have amended the day in my last posting but with regards to Durham, it is somewhat different from Newcastle where we had been previously, as there are a considerable number of bus routes running to the south and east of Durham which would have taken us to areas of much interest never visited on this relaunched quiz, let alone the original quiz that this one replaced. I do note we are back in South Wales once again.

I didn't take us to South Wales, so I'm not responsible for that....

I took us to Bristol Parkway, where we have not been for some considerable time.

But anyway....

On arrival, we note that we have arrived at the wrong hospital and should have gone to the one on the other side of Swansea, so we board the 1433 First South and West Wales service 4 to Morriston Hospital that arrives there at 1520 on Thursday afternoon.

We just have enough time to board the 1525 First South and West Wales service 24 to Caemawr Estate (Heol Cefni), arriving there at 1545 on Thursday afternoon.

We decide that the best plan of action is to move away from the area hospitals and estates and instead, to head off to a bus transport hub, so we board the 1645 First South and West Wales service 24 to Swansea city bus station that arrives there at 1720 on Thursday afternoon.

Muttering we hustle over to stand W for the 1730 No 2 First in South & West Wales departure towards Newton and, still muttering to ourselves, some twenty minutes later we get off at Oystermouth Oystermouth Square at 1751 Thursday and with a smile we mutter to ouselves, just audible to those waiting to board "at last The Mumbles"

We then board the 1825 First South West and Wales service 3A to Swansea University (Main Hall), arriving there at 1847 on Thursday evening.

In a hopeful attempt to move away from Swansea, we next board the 2040 First South and West Wales service 158 to Neath bus station that arrives there at 2114 on Thursday evening.

Time to take a different mode of transport now, having made lots of bus journeys in the area, so we enter the railway station and board 2B68, the 2158 Arriva Trains Wales service to Cardiff Central, arriving there at 2246 on Thursday evening.

Ignoring the obvious attactions offered by Carmarthen, as this would entail yet another rail journey through areas recently visited, we head off in the opposite direction and board the 2320 ATW service to Lydney that arrives there at 0018 on Friday morning.

Hmmm there's a rail replacement bus (today anyway) at 0100 - but I suspect it's actually a replacement for the train we arrived on

So we take the 0658 ATW service to Cheltenham Spa arriving at 0734 Friday morning

Nothing is wrong with the 07:40 apart from the traction but I just wanted a bit of time at Cheltenham.

We then take the 12:44 NR service to Leeds arriving at 14:18 on Friday Afternoon.

With regards to the earlier posting query today raised concerning the 0740 and the 0840 XC service to Stockport, where the latter train was taken, even though there time enough to use the earlier train, the above extract from the rules should make matters "crystal clear".

Bus services in this area appear to be as rare as hen's teeth during the week, so we enjoy our stay viewing all matters of interest, before boarding the 1742 Northern service to Skipton that arrives there at 1823 on Friday evening.

We take the 4 minute walk to the bus stop on Manningham Lane where we board the 1955 Yorkshire Tiger service 737 to Harrogate bus station that arrives there at 2110 on Friday evening.

We then walk to the station and take the 21:46 NR service to Headingley arriving at 22:10 on Friday evening.

Well it has been a long day so considering options we amble the short distance to Queeenswood Drive where we know we can catch First's 56 bus towards Moor Grange at 2318 alighting a few minutes later at West Park (Leeds), Butcher Hill Old Oak Drive when we note the time is 2324 Friday night.
Ought we have telephoned the Ascot Grange Hotel to check if there was a vacancy?

No need to book a hotel as there is a bus due in 5 minutes fortunately, so we continue our travelogue by boarding the 2329 First Leeds service 97 to Yeadon (High Street) that arrives there at 2347 on Friday evening.

Weary and hungry we lean against a wall until the 2357 departure of the number 747 Yorkshire Tiger bus towards Bradford and, after about 30 minutes, we see some golden arches and so decide to get off early at Bradford City Centre, Valley Rd North Holme Street at 0026 Saturday morning hoping for a burger and something to drink.

We then call it a night before boarding the 0711 First Bradford service 675 to Cottingley (Hope Hill View/Airedale Avenue), arriving there at 0744 on Saturday morning.

We next board the 0752 First Bradford service 675 to Shipley (Market Square) that arrives there at 0806 on Saturday morning.

Walking to Shipley Station and just missing the 0819 we end up on Northern's 0837 Skipton train which we get off at Steeton and Silsden at 0854 Saturday Morning

What we're going to do next is board 1M53, which is Northern's 1012 service to Carlisle, arriving there at 1214 on the afternoon of Saturday.

The Carlisle 8 minute minimum connection time thwarts one of our intended journeys, so we board the 1247 Virgin service to Glasgow Central that arrives there at 1401 on Saturday afternoon.
