Observing the 5 minute connection, we then board the 2330 Arriva London service 264 to West Croydon Bus Station, arriving 2356 on Monday evening.

We walk to the train station and take the 05:45 SN service to New Cross Gate arriving at 06:07 on Tuesday Morning.

We join with the early morning commuters and board the 0616 LO service to Dalston Junction that arrives there at 0639 on Tuesday morning.

We then take the 06:52 LO service to Clapham Junction arriving at 07:33 on Tuesday Morning.

We then head out of the capital and board 1F04, the 0753 Southern service to Shoreham-by-Sea, arriving there at 0900 on Tuesday morning, where we take into account the fact that this is a dividing service, with the trains detaching at Haywards Heath at 0837 and our portion taking the form of 1H72.

We next board the 0913 SN service to Gatwick Airport that arrives there at 0955 on Tuesday morning.

Time to head over the "North/South Divide" as we board the 1240 XC service to Newcastle that arrives there at 1745 on Tuesday evening.

Time to change onto a different mode of transport now as we exit the station and board the 1800 Stagecoach Newcastle service 22 to Throckley (Leazes Parkway), arriving there at 1827 on Tuesday evening.

We then board the 1832 Stagecoach Newcastle route X82 to Newcastle General Hospital, arriving at 1851 on a Tuesday evening.

We find that there is not much to keep our attention focused here at this time of the day, so we board the 2006 Stagecoach Newcastle service 11 to West Denton (Shopping Centre) that arrives there at 2049 on Tuesday evening.

We then continue our travels across Newcastle as we board the 2112 Stagecoach Newcastle service 7 to the MetroCentre (Bus Station), arriving there at 2126 on Tuesday evening.

Deciding to take a westwards bus journey away from the main core area, we next board the 2216 Go North East service 10 toCorbridge (Market Square) that arrives there at 2303 on Tuesday evening.

From the nearby Angel Inn the next morning, we then board the 0700 Go North East service X84 to Heddon-on-the-Wall (Three Tuns), arriving there at 0727 on Wednesday morning.

We next board the 0801 Go North East service X84 to Hexham bus station that arrives there at 0835 on Wednesday morning.

Grabbing a coffee we walk the half a mile to Hexham Station in about ten minutes in plently of time time to catch the 0858 Northern Rail train which we alight at 0921 Wednesday morning at Haltwhistle station where we enquired about a bus to see Hadrian's Wall.

Leaving the railway station, we find that the bus to the Roman fort left three minutes before our arrival, so taking the three minute walk to Market Place, we find there is a rural route bus service elsewhere still available and we board the 1013 Stagecoach in Cumbria service 685 to Aglionby (Henry Lonsdale House) that arrives there at 1047 on Wednesday morning.

Realizing our error, and not being ready to apply for bed in the Henry Lonsdale retirement home, we speak to a local who suggests we catch a 76 from the stop in Botcherby but on learning that was mile away we walk instead the half mile to the next stop down the road , passing under the M62, to catch the next westbound 685 from Rotary Way, by Lloyds garage, at 1118 which lets us off in Carlisle, at Warwick Road old Post Office at 1125 Wednesday.
We contemplate where to go next and whether it would be worthwhile using our Bite card to get something to eat?

We then walk the 0.2 miles to the station and get something to eat at the station before taking the 12:30 TPE service to Manchester Airport arriving at 14:47 on Wednesday Afternoon.

We stay with the same TOC and board the 1455 First TPE service to Grimsby Town that arrives there at 1737 on Wednesday afternoon.

Changing TOC we then take the 18:28 EMT service to Newark North Gate arriving at 19:53 on Wednesday evening.

We next decide to head for the capital and board the 2018 East Coast service to London King's Cross, arriving 2143 (2141 WTT) on Wednesday evening.

We decide upon an evening journey to a cathedral city and board the 2200 EC service to Durham that arrives there at 0152 on Thursday morning.

We have gone right around in a circle back to the north east again, which seems a little repetitive, so the next morning we board 1V48, the 0658 CrossCountry service to Bristol Parkway, arriving there at 1129 on Thursday morning.

Paul - your arrival into Durham at 0152 is Thursday, not Wednesday

We then take the 12:08 FGW service to Swansea arriving at 13:44 on Thursday afternoon.

We have gone right around in a circle back to the north east again

I have been away from the website for much of the later part of yesterday and have amended the day in my last posting but with regards to Durham, it is somewhat different from Newcastle where we had been previously, as there are a considerable number of bus routes running to the south and east of Durham which would have taken us to areas of much interest never visited on this relaunched quiz, let alone the original quiz that this one replaced. I do note we are back in South Wales once again.
