It is the only service in a while and it is only 2 minutes under. Also if I can make a 1 minute connection at Crewe from platform 11 to platform 5 I could make platform 1 to platform 2 in 3 minutes.

With regard to the matter of Thatto Heath, all I can reiterate is what the rules of this quiz say about minimum connection times. I did in fact confirm that an OFFICIAL connection time at Thatto Heath is in fact five minutes.

The OFFICIAL minimum connection time at Crewe is stated to be 10 minutes. You will find that all of the larger railway stations do in fact have longer official connection times.

So here's the conundrum for the rule-setters. The connection from there to Ballater is service 201 depart 0846, and similarly at Ballater it arrives at 0928, and a new service 201 continues to Braemar at 0930. I am sure this is the same vehicle. So assuming the next poster chooses to remount this bus at Banochry at 0846, is that legal?

I got this info from Traveline Scotland, where the services are in three separate columns. However, on looking at the the Stagecoach Bluebird timetable afterwards, this service is in one column, with a gap between the 'changing' points and a symbol with this proviso:

So, having read that, could I have had a move all the way to Braemar legally?

With regard to the above quoted posting, when it comes to journeys split due to EU Regs etc, I can't see any reason as to why if the concerned individual wished to travel the full way, they couldn't. As such, the answer to your question would be 'Yes'.

It would also pose a unusual situation if the move finished at the point where there is a guaranteed connection, another poster may chose to travel onward on what would be the same bus; this would not break the 'same service' rule as they are different services and as they are guaranteed connections, the minimum interchange time is the time between the two buses, despite often not allowing 5 minutes... if you follow?

In circumstances like this, apply regard to what would happen in real life, and mix in a touch of common sense, hopefully we'll get along like, well, erm, the bus!

Upon deciding it is a horrible time to be anywhere near Chester (believe me it is) we catch the 23:33 Merseyrail service to Hooton getting there at 23:43 on Sunday night.
