We make our way to the station and take the 2009 FGW service (hoping desperately it's not a single unit 153) and travel to Castle Cary, arriving one hour later at 2109 Sunday evening

We are surprised to see that a London Paddington service departs ten minutes later, so we board 1A98, the 2119 First Great Western service to London Paddington, arriving there at 2323 on Sunday evening.

Let me see if I can still get to Maesteg to replace the posting that I was just too late in posting a couple of postings ago...

We next board the 1230 First South and West Wales service X3 to Maesteg bus station that arrives there at 1255 on Monday afternoon.

NOTE : The Traveline planner still refers to "First Cymru"

The X3....I was too involved in trying to remember to make the footnote posting about how Traveline name the operating company that this essential part of my posting was not shown....it is now.

The official 10 minute connection time at this large railway station precludes the use of an interesting service departing at 1900, so we pass a little time noting that this station like York has curved platforms before boarding the 1930 XC service to Leeds that arrives there at 2315 on Monday evening.

Paul, have you used a rocket to get to Leeds? 2052 is the time this service gets into Birmingham; it gets into Leeds at 2315.

As I'm not sure whether it was Birmingham or Leeds you were going to, I'll briefly make another journey from Bristol just to prevent the game from being delayed, if no one objects?

We board the 1912 First in Bristol, Bath and The West service 1 to Henbury (Crow Lane), arriving there at 1943 on Monday evening, where we'll have a chance to use another CrossCountry service later on.

Despite there being several other night buses in Bristol, as we've stuck to the 48/49 route our options are somewhat restricted, because we've been to most of the places on the route and we try to avoid going back on ourselves, so we let the hours pass before boarding the 0541 First in Bristol, Bath and The West service 48 to Eastville (Robertson Road), arriving there at 0602 on Tuesday morning.
