With a desire to sample South West Trains, we have a long gap. Finding somewhere to eat, then returning to the station to catch the 2257 service to Salisbury, where we arrive at 00:43 on Thursday morning. Time for bed I think!

We then call it a night before making the ten minute walk to New Canal (which luckily just fits the allowance of 0.5 miles) and boarding the 0915 First Bristol, Bath and The West service 265 to Bath (Bus Station), arriving there at 1149 on Thursday morning.

We then walk to the seafront and grab some fish and chips before heading to the bus stop on Marine Parade, where we board the 1825 First Bristol, Bath and The West service W1 to Hotwells (Hotwell Road), arriving there exactly an hour later at 1925 on Thursday evening.

Wishing to visit a settlement that contains the remains both of an Iron-Age hillfort and a Roman villa, we next board the 1944 First in Bristol, Bath and the West service W1 to Congresbury (Ship and Castle) that arrives there at 2019 on Thursday evening.

Onwards to another iconic settlement with much to attract the tourists from abroad as we take the short 3 minute walk to the bus stop on Colston Avenue and board the 2202 First in Bristol, Bath and the West service 39 to Bath bus station which arrives at 2243 on Thursday evening.

Being desirous of terminating our journey in a large rather than a small area, we next board the 0029 First in Bristol, Bath and the West service 39 to Bristol bus station that arrives there at 0045 on Friday morning.

We then exit the bus station and walk down the small lane that cuts through St James' Park to The Haymarket, which is 0.2 miles away. Luckily, Bristol has a few 24 hour bus services, so we make the most of these as we very rarely have the opportunity to do so. We board the 0140 First Bristol, Bath and The West service 75 to Hartcliffe (Hollisters Drive), arriving there at 0104 in the early hours of Friday morning.
