Taking the short walk to the bus stop on Beverley Road, we next board the 1220 EYMS service 45 to Pocklington (Chapmangate) that arrives there at 1252 on Monday afternoon.

As a matter of attempting to calculate the walking distance from Full Sutton Prison to the settlement of Full Sutton, the time table for the EYMS 747 bus service gives a bus travelling time on one minute, so is it possible to walk such a distance as this in one minute, as I have a feeling that the distance does exceed the maximum 0.5 mile walk allowed by the rules of this quiz. ?

Noting the reassurances given, we take the walk to that stated bus stop and board the 1550 EYMS service 747 to Bishop Wilton (Main Street) that arrives there at 1611 on Monday afternoon.

Google maps put the walking distance between 'Full Sutton Prison' bus stop to 'Full Sutton Main Street' bus stop at just over 0.3 miles with a walking time of 7 minuets.

This confuses me as I only ever time my walking to the timing of gavottes...

According to HMP Full Sutton Prison's website, the return service towards York is apparently the 474, but I cannot find a timetable for the service, nor another service later on at all that day, so I think we have no option but to commit a crime, where we share the night in a cell with some of the inmates, and then be released the next day and walk to Full Sutton, where we board the 0745 East Yorkshire Motor Service service 747 to York (Railway Station), arriving there at 0820 on Tuesday morning.

If there is an alternative mode of travel for Monday afternoon, please inform me and I shall duly edit my post. Thanks..

The bus stop in the village is 0.3 miles away from the prison, so this is allowed under the ruling (which has been heavily mentioned of late on here).

If not the first transport out is at 1320 next day - the 0745 serves the village only.

Indeed, hence why I said, in my recent post to York on Tuesday morning, we make the walk to Full Sutton.

There are 2 747 buses out of Full Sutton village on a Monday afternoon, the first of which Paul took to Bishop Wilton arriving at 1611 where I think we still are.

Not sure of the history of his post - at various times I've been able to see it and at others it said post deleted. Double post prevention system playing up?? Or my browser?? There was also a move involving a Virgin (sic) service out of York on the Tuesday morning which has also gone - and not returned.

Right, in that case I shall edit my post and continue on from Bishop Wilton at 1611 on Monday afternoon.

New journey:
We find that are no more services out of Bishop Wilton for the remainder of today, so we have no other option but to wait until Tuesday and board the 1140 East Yorkshire Motor Service service 747 to York (Railway Station), arriving there at 1232 on Tuesday afternoon.

(Irritatingly, the first 747 service of the day only starts from Full Sutton at 0745, which is what I went for when I believed we were still there.)

I've never heard of such errors on the forum, so that is most strange.

As for York, Virgin don't even operate there!

Unfortunately, Gloucester is not blessed with any other services for the rest of the day (although the fact the last train terminates at 0040 isn't too bad), so we watch the hours pass (which isn't too long, at four and a half hours) and board the first train out the following morning, which is 2M02, the 0518 First Great Western service to Southampton Central, arriving there at 0808 on Wednesday morning.

Indeed there was; however, for the sake of simplicity, and because it was going to London which is where we've been a lot lately, it's probably best to stick to Southampton, particularly with the chaos we had in York the other day!

Thank you for bringing it to my attention, however.

As we depart from the ferry, we find we do not have long to await the arrival of the next bus at the terminal stop at the hard standing area, full of ships chandlers establishments and yacht training schools and we board the 0945 Southern Vectis service 1 to Newport bus station that arrives there at 1010 on Wednesday morning.

However do those bus drivers manage to negotiate the very narrow entrance to the hard standing area through the building on the main street with only inches to spare.

The information contained in their journey planner may not be correct as it currently does not have the up-to-date 4th May timetable information on the Southern Vectis bus information that has affected most of their low service number buses.
