There are no bus services within the statutory half-mile of the station on a Wednesday, so we await 1J78, SWR's 2222 service towards Reading, from which we alight at Basingstoke at 2231 on Wednesday

The last bus left here over 6 hours ago, so we stay on the rails and board 1L80, SWR's 2237 service towards London Waterloo, from whihc we alight at Woking at 2326 on Wednesday.

Edit: Post deleted as previous post deleted, presumably as the timings didn't work :)

So we are currently at Basingstoke...

There are no bus services within the statutory half-mile of the station so we await 2J90, GWR's 2312 service towards Reading, from which we alight at Reading West at 2322 on Wednesday.

Was going to say, Mortimer didn't have a great deal to offer!

We then exit the station onto Oxford Road, where we board the 2337 Reading Buses Purple Line service to Tilehurst (Water Tower), arriving there at 2348 on Wednesday evening.

Let's take 5 minutes to walk the 0.2 miles to the Chancellors Way southbound stop on Shinfield Rd. Wanting Reading Buses the leopard service 3, we let the 0616 short working pass and await the bus due at 0636, which we take as far as Wokingham Hospital, where we arrive at 0720 on Thursday.

That train looks to be 1933 arrival, not 1953...?

Let's board 1A59, South Western Railway's 1953 service, from which we alight at Alton at 2007 on Thursday.

Not wanting to head back to Crawley or beyond, we await the 0714 journey on Metrobus service 281, and alight at Crawley Down (opp. Royal Oak) at 0748 on Friday morning.

I would never have guessed that Crawley Down is 5 miles away from central Crawley, across open countryside...
