Well the 23 bus from here only runs every two hours from here, but also that services arrives at 1551 (it departs WLD at 1553) so we can return on the 1557 Southeastern service 1H62 to Tonbridge, arriving there at 1648 on Wednesday afternoon.

There aren't any frequent bus services from here, and the line only runs between here and Strood, so we exit the station and take the eleven minute/0.5 mile walk to Earl Street, where we board the 1757 Arriva Kent & Surrey Sapphire service 101 to Chatham (Waterfront Bus Station), arriving there at 1829 on Wednesday evening.

Thankfully, we are just within permitted walking distance from the railway station (10 minutes/0.5 miles), otherwise we'd have been stuffed as there aren't any more buses operating from what I can see, so we walk to the railway station and board the 2015 Southeastern service 2N68 to Sturry, arriving there at 2131 on Wednesday evening.

(notes - Cecil Square to the station is 0.5 Miles, I checked the rules first ;), google says 11 mins to walk)

We walk to Margate station, taking about 15 minutes, and Catch the 2W77 2255 Margate to Ashford International and get off at Canterbury West [CBW] on Platform 1, at 23:36 on the Wednesday.

That service actually arrives at 2326 not 2336, but sadly the last Triangle bus leaves at the same time, so in the morning we return for the 0518 Southeastern service 1J05 to Ashford International, arriving there at 0541 on Thursday morning.

Fancied sampling some buses but the next one isn't for another hour, so we continue on the 0738 Southern service 1F13 to Haywards Heath, arriving there at 0838 on Thursday morning.

It's a bit of a wait, but within the rules...
We grab a quick snack from JanTon News, and perhaps have a look at the village church, and then wait in the rather nice looking shelter at the War Memorial stop (which is right by the church, unlike the Church stop, which isn't!) for the 1109 Metrobus service 273, alighting at Pease Pottage (opp Black Swan) at 1136 on the Thursday.

That was a clever move!
Unless I'm very much mistaken the only option left other than tracing our steps on the train, or waiting an hour for the next train forward, is to take Stagecoach South Coastliner 700 from Warblington Green Pond Corner (sounds lovely!), which is a 6 min walk away. However, we've missed the last eastbound one at 2028, and the westbound one at 2037 is too tight, so we await the 2137, alighting at its terminus in Havant Bus Station at 2140.
It's outside the rules, but we could have been there at 2047 if we'd walked all the way!!!!
