We mollify our disappointment somewhat by boarding the 1937 Virgin service to Glasgow Central that arrives there at 2318 on Thursday evening.

Walking down the ramp from the bus station to the bus stop near the railway bridge, we next board the 1138 Stagecoach Manchester service 378 to Gillbent (Grove Lane) that arrives there at 1145 on Friday morning.

There are a couple of stops in Grove Lane Gillbent so we walk back to the one by the rugby club that the X57 service stops at and await Stagecoach's 1205 X57 service which we get on and stay on until Piccadilly Gardens Manchester at 1303 Friday.

Having missed the 23A in both directions by less than two minutes at Parrs Wood, we wait for the next Stageocach Manchester 23 to the Trafford Centre bus station, arriving at 14:44.

To be fair I did post nearly fifteen minutes before you did, so I wouldn't exactly call your attempted 'thwarted'

Plus what's wrong with Wolverhampton?! I briefly lived there for a few months and I also have good friends that still live there!

The idea of the game is to keep moving, which I did. If we keep complaining about where we end up, we'll get nowhere....
