We then have a desire to travel on London Midland's southern diesel outpost so we catch the 1101 departure and alight at Lidlington where we arrive at 1122 on Saturday morning.
As we arrive, we see our next train arriving as well, and we get on it waiting for its departure. It is the 18:50 Southern service to 1C90 to London Victoria, arriving at 19:50 Saturday evening.
I'm desperate to know how we ended up in the south again
Heading to Victoria coach station, we then board the 2030 National Express service 560 to Sheffield (Interchange), arriving there at 0010 in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Wishing to assist a fellow traveller's wish to move northwards, we are fortunate that we can assist, so we next board the 0200 National Express service 334 to Glasgow (Buchanan bus station) that arrives there at 0920 on Sunday morning.
And I will further oblige, by saying after a 40 minute PNB, we board the 1000 Scottish CityLink service 915 to Broadford, Post Office, arriving at 1635 on Sunday afternoon.
Having just missed the sleeper on Sunday timings, we instead enter the station for a local foray to the Granite City, boarding the 2103 ScotRail service to Aberdeen, arriving at 2313 on Sunday evening.
Exiting the station, we take the four minute walk to St Nicholas Kirk, where we board the 2333 First Aberdeen service 2 to Robert Gordon University (Garthdee Road), arriving there at 2350 on Sunday evening.
That appears to be it for the night, so we board the 0613 First Aberdeen service X40 to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary (Foresterhill Road), arriving there at 0636 on Monday morning.
Entering the station directly behind, we then board the 1447 Abellio ScotRail service 1T99 to Glasgow Queen Street, arriving there at 1812 on Monday evening.
Exiting the station and taking the short walk to Poplar Road, we move away from the rails now as we board the 2041 First Glasgow service 1A to Clydebank (Railway Station), arriving there at 2211 on Monday evening.
The opportunity to ride on a late night stopping train is too good to miss, so we make our way into the station and board the 2235 Abellio ScotRail service to Carstairs that arrives at 0005 on Tuesday morning.
