I don't get the second lot, but I will say I had no idea in relation to the deja vu, I on'y stopped at Winnersh Triangle as it was the first stop after midnight, otherwise the next post may well have been

Indeed, we've gone from Virginia Water to Winnersh Triangle to Reading all on exactly the same services as we did on those posts before!

Then get the 2:28 Reading Buses service 26 to Calcot (Sainsbury's), arriving at 02:39 Sunday morning, because you decide to go and visit a closed supermarket again!

I do feel that sometimes in this game, for whatever reason, we get stuck on night service buses going backwards and forwards until finally we get to the station or a more interesting bus or coach service that is available at about 0500. In the last year we've been stuck in Norwich, Reading and now Bristol, going back and forth. I think that this puts people off playing. Normally we get two or three posts a day, but if we get stuck at night, I think people feel an inner groan, 'Oh no we have to shuttle here and there in this city or town until the early morning', and this is reflected in the frequency of posts..

In addition, posters have been criticised for not realising that there are obscure night coach services available when they've said, 'Let's call it a night' - this leads to ill-will.

I would suggest an amendment to the rules whereby any arrivals at a place at 0030 or later can be optionally dormant till 0530.

However, I realise people may disagree with me, and in any case I have no idea to whom I should submit this proposal .

We could have gone into the centre, but as you stopped us at Coronation Square I couldn't, as it is still quite a long way out the centre, so I had no choice but to get a 26 again, and I get another one. I am happy to continue fron Newbury if you want though, as I believe that was never actually passed into the rules, so although it is OK in my veiw it might be against the words of the rules!

My apologies - I made a typo with my post numbers!

It was actually posts #10285-10287.

The significance is that on those occasions, we boarded a service to Virginia Water service, then the 2331 Virginia Water to Winnersh Triangle service and then the 0038 Winnersh Triangle to Reading service, basically repeating the exact same three moves on the exact three same trains as we've just done.

We could have gone into the centre, but as you stopped us at Coronation Square I couldn't, as it is still quite a long way out the centre, so I had no choice but to get a 26 again, and I get another one. I thought Coronation Square was in centre of Reading, sorry! As the timetable stated 'Reading Coronation Square', thus thinking there would be other night services available.

Are we all generally happy to continue from Newbury bus station at 0829 on Sunday?

I did put the proposal referred to above to one of the Quizmasters, and I think I was supported by DanTrainMan but never got a response, so I expect the old rules continue.

Anyway, we walk the short journey to the station and catch the 0949 Great Western service to Westbury, arriving 1021 on Sunday morning.

It departs from Jesus College, on another arm of the roundabout, and takes us to Cambridge Railway Station after a short but scenic trip through the city. We arrive at our destination at 18:30 on Sunday evening.

Avoiding London and the south, we return up northwards as we board the 0745 National Express service 230 to Leicester (St Margaret's Bus Station), arriving there at 1150 on Monday morning.

Then we walk the 0.2 miles (5 minutes) to the Haymarket Bus Station and get the 11:45 Arriva Midlands service 5A to Melton Mowbray (opp Severn Hill), arriving at 12:50 Monday afternoon.

We just miss a number 14 bus, which goes back the way we came (albeit by a different route). Rather than simply go back the way we came, we walk due East for ten minutes to reach Victoria Street. From this stop, we catch the Centrebus 19 service at 13:28. It takes us to Oakham Railway Station. We arrive at 13:58 on Monday afternoon.

Then get the 14:20 Crosscountry service 1N55 to Coleshill Parkway, arriving at 15:24 Monday afternoon

It's a half hour wait (I get the impression it's timed to connect perfectly, but a 0 minute connection is not valid) until 15:54, when the next National Express West Midlands bus number X70 arrives to take us South to Chelmsley Interchange. We arrive at 16:14 on Monday afternoon.
