I was on this very service last night, between Crewe and Cardiff.

As can be expected, Ferryside has nothing to offer even in the daytime, let alone at 0121 in the morning, so we call it a night before boarding the 0557 Arriva Trains Wales service 2F47 to Pontyclun, arriving there at 0733 on Wednesday morning.

We board Stagecoach South Wales service 122 at 0753 to Tonypandy, Co-op arriving at 0837 Wednesday morning.

As a Cardiff resident born and bred, living just over a mile away from Culverhouse Cross, I can honestly say I have never heard of a settlement called Cyntwell, ever. Neither has my mother or my father, nor my friend who even works as an inspector for Cardiff Bus.

Could you please specify exactly where we are Paul? There is a Cyntwell Avenue in Ely? Is this where you meant to take us?

I have responded to your PM as we are going to an event with my son and his wife and the grandchildren early this morning and I am using his laptop to send both this posting and the PM to you, as all the information contained in my last posting was WORD FOR WORD what Traveline Cymru said.

For what it's worth, I've also found it impossible to identify where we are, until I went onto Traveline and attempted to replicate Paul's exact journey. Google Maps seems to name the bus stop differently to Traveline.

My detective work indicates we are at the bus stop named Cowbridge Road (NE Bound) (by Google Maps) on the A48 just north-east of the A48/A4232 roundabout (the route 96 stop after Ruhr Cross and before Culverhouse Pub).

As for the settlement, Google Maps seems to indicate it is either Culverhouse Cross or Caerau, not Cyntwell, and DanTrainMan185 also has local knowledge in this regard.

Paul may want to confirm my reasoning is correct.

Anyway, I think I know where we are now, thank you for your detail post Springs Branch, and this is in fact Culverhouse Cross and not this Cyntwell place, so we then board the 1826 Cardiff Bus service 96 to Canton (Lincoln Street), arriving there at 1837 on Wednesday evening.

And Lincoln Street is in Canton, before anyone points out

We have only just returned from our day out with the family and the weather was very kind to us.

As Traveline Cymru receives its core funding from the Welsh Government, can I ask you with your far better knowledge than I possess of travel matters in Wales, if questions have been raised in the Welsh Government about the shortcomings in its system, to which you make note of above.
