We board the 06:45 Stuart's Coaches service 366 to Harthill Services (At), arriving there at 07:36 on Sunday morning

We did get as far south as Gretna before being taken north again.

We next take the 07.53 Scottish Citylink service AIR to Edinburgh Airport arriving at 08.19 on Sunday.

We go to Stance E at Edinburgh Airport and board the 08:52 Ember service E9 to Inverness Union Street (D), arriving there at 12:17 on Sunday afternoon

We next take the 1419 Ember E6 to Scrabster Ferry Terminal, arriving there at 1755 on Sunday.

We enter the ferry terminal and board the 19:00 Northlink Ferry to Stromness Orkney Ferry Terminal, arriving there at 20:30 on Sunday evening

We next take the 21.00 Stagecoach North Scotland service X1 alighting at Kirkwall Travel Centre at 21.28 on Sunday.

With only one option, we board the 22:50 Stagecoach North Scotland service X10 to Stromness, alighting at Hatston, at Passenger Terminal at 23:00 on Sunday evening

We enter the ferry terminal and take the 2315 Northlink Ferry to Lerwick Shetland Holmsgarth Ferry Terminal, arriving there at 0730 on Monday.

As far as I can see this is the first time in 6 years that The Transport Game has visited Shetland and Orkney!

With only the 4 available we take the 0818 departure to Lerwick, Viking Bus Station, arriving at 0839 on Monday.

With only the 4 available and this being the terminus we return on the same bus at 08.18 alighting at Lerwick, Toll Clock Shopping Centre at 08.37 on Monday.

With no buses for over a hour we have ages to cross the road and board the 12:35 J&DS Halcrow service 9 to Walls, alighting at Bixter, opposite Post Office at 12:56 on Monday afternoon

The problem with island hopping is in many cases infrequent public transport so we finish up back tracking on the 9 at 13.34 alighting at Lerwick, Co-op at 14.03 on Monday.

As there is no bus stop across the road from the Co-Op we walk the 6 minutes/0.3 miles to the Northbound Shetland Hotel bus stop and board the 14:35 R G Jamieson & Son service 24 to Greenbank, alighting at Gutcher, at Ferry Terminal at 16:12 on Monday afternoon

Didn't even notice in planning this move that this bus goes on a ferry!

We next take the 17.00 R Robertson & Son service 24Y to Ulsta, Ferry Terminal arriving at 17.25 on Monday.

We next board the 1820 F Robertson & Son service 24Y to Colvister (the bus stop opposite Road End on the A968) that arrives there at 1839 on Monday.

With the next departure not being at 0640, we are able to take the 0732 F Robertson & Son service 24Y from which we alight at Gutcher, Ferry Terminal at 0742 on Tuesday.

It feels like we are not far away from visiting (for the first time, possibly) the most northerly bus stop in the UK...

Time for a change of route number, we take the 0840 R G Jamieson service 28 to Baltasound Industrial Estate arriving at 0910 on Tuesday morning.

We await the next journey north on R G Jamieson service 28 at 1040, which deposits us at Saxa Vord, Brakefield Cres at 1055 on Tuesday.

We appear to still be able to get to the most northerly stop if we work together

Looks like that's it for a few hours so we await the 1600 R G Jamieson service 28 to Haroldswick, Village arriving at 1606 on Tuesday.

We didn't alight there, but on that journey WE TURNED ROUND AT THE MOST NORTHERLY STOP IN THE UK (Norwick Village, at 1601).

With the R G Jamieson 28 still our only option, we depart here on that service on the only remaining journey of the day at 1717, alighting at its terminus at Baltasound, Industrial Estate at 1720 on Tuesday.

That being it for the day, we return in the morning for another journey on the R G Jamieson service 28, departing at 0744, leaving Unst and alighting back on Yell at Gutcher Ferry Terminal at 0835 on Wednesday.

With a ferry departing every 30 minutes we should technically take this back north, but to avoid us getting stuck back on Yell we bend the rules to depart on the next available bus at 1210 on R Robertson & Son service 23. We alight at Lerwick, Viking Bus Station at 1317 on Wednesday.
